    Just picked up my new to me 456 6spd in Monaco Blue....took her out for first drive around our home town this afternoon...95+ degree full sunshine outside......the temp gauge in traffic with a/c on, ran at very top of 3rd quarter of gauge....on highway at 90mph...a/c still on ran right around 190 mark....these seem normal but wanted to check here for any insights. She had a full service including valve clearancing a month ago according to records.....adding some pix too

    Normally the only overheating problems our V12s have are when stopped at lights or in slow traffic. Temps normally drop pretty quickly when she is moving. Make sure the full servicing you note included a coolant change, since that is not actually called out in the maintenance recommendations. Should be done every 2-3 years.

    That looks about normal to me too. 190-210. On mine the temps drop from 210 to 190 when the fan clicks on. Keep in mind these cars have "real" gauges, meaning they show a real temp. Most modern mass produced cars dampen the temp gauge around 190-210 so that the mass audience they are made for doesn't complain because the needle shows movement.

    I've never had mine go above 95 degrees C (203 F I believe), even when on track. At speed on highway I'm around 81.

    I can't speak for the 456 - but my 456M always is no higher then 190 with our without AC. Never seen it inch up - again, not trying to be alarmist, could be entirely normal.

    Appreciate all the input... I have been driving Sophia the last few days in different conditions and she seems to float in this general range, with no leaking, steaming, etc.. I'll keep watching but looks like her normal range.

    No guarantee your temperature sender or gauge are spot on, either.
