I think so. The car is at the shop finishing the AC rebuild and I've asked my mechanic to verify they're authentic. Stay tuned.
Update (I don't see how to edit the original post): - Wheels aren't authentic HRE, but 16" Hayashi Racing (I never bothered to check as I just like the style) - I have a set of stock wheels that were gifted to me but they need to be restored (and I should check with the donor to be sure he's okay with me parting with them) - Shops I use are Modena Motors in Redwood City (Tony Palladino the F40 specialist) and Coppa Bella Motors (Steve Fremgen) in Monterey. Both incredible one-man independents with decades of Ferrari focus and dealer shop backgrounds.
FYI, they actually are 505's or 'Palace' wheels. Hiyashi Racing made them. I have two sets and recognize them.
Ha! Hayashi Palace is equivalent precursor to HRE 505. So...authentic after all! https://kyushashoes.com/product/hayashi-racing-palace/ I was too young when these were new to have learned the nuances.
AC issue has been resolved (loose fitting fixed and system recharged), now blows cold again. Colored plates behind AC/heat controls refinished and look like new (color had been smeared which is a common issue). Added Pioneer AVH-3300NEX single DIN flip-up big-screen head-unit with Apple Carplay (mostly for easy navigation to the fun roads) Reproduction targa roof pouch obtained Jack is present.
Out of curiosity, how does this refinishing of the colored AC plates work? I have the same smeared color on mine and been looking unsuccessfully for replacements for a while. Very interested in how a refinishing option is possible and who does it. Thanks.
