Sky (F1 feed) showing pix of Ham's tires at the end. But I wanted to see Charles' tires -- after so many laps on Hardiums. Pirelli must have been surprised that cars managed a 1-stop.
I think he has known that for a long time. But it's still better for him to be Number 2 at Mercedes and have the occasional win/pole, rather than stay at Williams and never reach Q2, no? A lot of drivers make this judgement call in their career.
Charles is improving a lot on tyre management. what a beast of a driver he will be soon ! unfortunately he is driving a donkey right now. Vettel won't end the year with the team unless he begins to calm down and drive like a 4 time world champion should.
Like DiResta said, Pirelli weren’t able to adapt to higher DF levels, so following last week’s experience pressures were raised and teams had to adjust their strategies. And no tires failed so not much to fault them on. Don’t forget these fragile tires were F1’s idea to create more pit stops but teams just adapted their design to improve their useful life instead of stopping more often.
Well, you are stating the obvious here !! Hamilton is enquiring how his direct competitor is conducting his race. He is not interested to know about Grosjean's tyre pressure !!!!
I was at my parents' place for cake and coffee. Delicious and fine chats. So happy I didn't waste a second on the joke F1 has become.
Who cares what tactics are used after you fall to the back of the grid at the first lap. They certainly chose the best tactic of which tire to start on—same as the race winner— but then the supposed 4-time champion pi**es away the advantage he’s certainly in no position to assign fault to anyone else.
I'll bet after these 2 weekends, especially with Mercedes, Toto and Pirelli have a meeting regarding tire compounds and tire pressures to benefit Mercedes....that my opinion.
So I’ll waste a few minutes to just say that if you understood the first thing about design and engineering that the revelation (from Autosport article this morning) that the ducts provided by Merc to RP in breach of the rules offers a new and important distinction beyond just the fact that the physical ducts could be scanned, inspected or copied—it suggests that Merc and RP knew that these (Merc designed and built) ducts would fit and work on the newly designed RP that was not even shown publicly in January. Sorry if these inconvenient facts get in the way of anti-Ferrari conspiracies and paranoia.
Lancelot is such a piece of garbage...and so slow...to make hulk pit to mke him look good was so predictable...what a garbage team it has become...congrats to Max and Charles, by far the better drivers out there, the day fia alows other teams to fight, a max vs charles will be epic
No cable or internet right now where I am in New York, so I wasn’t able to watch this weekend, but based on what I’m hearing here: Congratulations to Verstappen for beating both Mercedes. Leclerc continues to get 100% out of the car and demonstrate he is one of the elite. Vettel needs to be replaced as soon as possible, as he has a piss poor attitude and is going through the motions.
Schadenfreude converted to fremdschämen. It is somewhat uncomfortable to see SV dying out there. He's getting beaten by an Alphatauri driver!
Vettel is in an unusual position. Unfortunately for him it was HE that disappointed first. They gave him the car and he blew it. Granted the Scuderia doesn’t appear to have given him the emotional support he needs. He needs to NOT be publicly critical of The Scuderia. I do NOT care for Alonso however in his case the team disappointed him first. There are NO excuses for Alonso’s betraying behavior HOWEVER he did not let the team down with his driving performance.
I trained as a draughtsman many years ago, so don't worry about my understanding about design and engineering. I am not contesting the facts nor the findings of the stewards. My point is that repeating a protest every week for the same reason will no bring a solution. I am familiar enough about scrutineering before race, to know that a car that isn't conform shouldn't be allowed to race: it happened to me !! If the Racing Point cars are illegal, they shouldn't be allowed to compete, right? So why the FIA doesn't say so? Why do they allow them to race? If only a couple of parts are at fault, Racing Point should be given reasonable time to manufacture alternative. Have they been told to do so ? Protesting Racing Point after each race is just vexatory. Racing Point can only abide by clear directives, the FIA gives none. What is frustrating for F1 followers is that no solution is proposed, only useless litigation and costly fines. F1 is turning into a Kafka story.
Things are getting heated with Binotto and Seb. Seb blames tire strat. Binotto blames Seb spin albeit his own doing putting him last in the beginning of the race.
