I know this is cosmetic bull---- but the one other design feature that bugs me besides the flag mirrors is the ugly oil fill cap. Does anyone know where I can get a F emblem to cover the rivets on that awful looking oilcap on the 1-4 bank? I have seen a pic somewhere but maybe I have to turn a wheel cap down to fit, Any suggestions? cheers , lost

    Mike,
I think it is great that there are only two issues I have with the design, ugly mirrors and ugly filler cap! I won't even start about my English iron, not enough space! Yuk Yuk

Someone here years ago used to offer a yellow insert with Prancing Horse that dropped into the center recess.

    The rivets still were visible.....

I lost mine for two days and had to go find it, in the road...it's EVEN uglier than yours!! ;)

I thought something had fallen off mine at first, pretty ugly but what was intended.... Never thought it worth the time or need to change so left alone. First picture doesn't look goo IMHO, a round yellow with horsey insert would have been the best.

I think I am the first guy (maybe) to do that. Unfortunately I had an old (1970's) gear lever plastic inser, which is ironically the same on the Boxer locking gas cap. TR used to have these in stock!

Anyway I put a rubber o-ring around it and RTVed it in.

My reason was different I got 3 caps that had the plating chipping out of the center so I said I give up and put the horse on, and never looked back!!!!

mine came out of a leather gear shift knob that came with the 308 when I bought it. I promptly replaced it with the proper knob. The centre piece fit perfectly into the oil filler cap just as if it was made for it

dont give up the good news is it comes off easy and when you find what you are looking for it will be a quick fix! I have also seen and bought some other round logo horses but my supply has dried up and i used them all, I think they were too big also......

    Friends,

Ha trying to jumpstart the thread, looking for more inserts. A guy on ebay is selling them but they are not as nice as the ones I posted above, and below, but without silver accents. and here below. If anyone comes across some let me know. Apparently a lister had some made if we can find him maybe he has a few still?

    Rob
