This seems like a fun thread to revive. Peter did you enjoy owning/racing the car? Do you still have it? What were best and worst things about the 488 GT3? Is anyone else having bad thoughts of buying a 2020 Gt3?
no, the Car is fantastic. I've raced the 488GT3 extensive (over 20K Kilometers) in multiple championships (Blancpain, LeMans Cup and Gulf 12 hours) the Car is bullet proof. I never, NEVER had any technical failure! Now I bought a 488 GTE for ELMS and Le Mans 24h next week. it might be expensive to buy but it keeps a certain value, the 488 GT3/GTE is amazing, you will not regret it. Le me know if you have any questions, glad to support. if you can run it without a BoP you will have a crazy fast weapon. I would prefer the GT3/GTE all day over the Challenge.
Great info thank you! Congrats on racing so much too ... how fun. I have driven my challenge car (now with EVO) about 10,000 kms and have enjoyed every second, did 17 races. However as you well know the 488 challenge is an amazing racecar but is made from the 488 road car, unlike the amazing GT3/E which is a real racecar built from the ground up by Michelotto! There are a few GT3s in the US so if I can buy a nice I one I will post pics!

The car looks fantastic Christopher. Good luck for the 24H of Le Mans next week. I will keep my eyes on you!
thank you Guys, its kinda weird being here without public... and the weatherforecast changed dramatically for the weekend, seems gonna be very very wet
Does anyone know the changes for the 2020 488 GT3? I hear the wheelbase was lengthened but can’t find by how much.
Yes, It was a strange race, without public and the weather forecast was mostly wrong. Sad to the see the Ferraris struggling through the race (I believe your car retired, right?) . Looking forward for the next, hopefully with audience again.
Our Car run flawless and I gained 8 positions in my first stint after the start but that only went well until my teammate smashed it into the wall. A small mistake can cost a painful price at Le Mans. Old School fast track and thats why we love it... the forecast said thunderstorms and instead of heavy rain the whole night was clear and warm. I hope I can return in 2021 or 2022....
The lights behind the doors are showing the current position in class when its dark, so the public can see 1 green light - class leader, this is only activated in night races. here some details from the shake down in fiorano (no lights) and the 24h of Le Mans (with) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks my friend, yes it took me a few years to be there but it wasn't the last time. Not sure for 2021 if I can manage to get a slot so also focussing already for 2022! the 488GTE seems homologated until 2023 in GTE AM and hell knows what we will see after especially in AM Class.... there is currently no develpment for a 488 GT3/GTE successor in place...
I’m doing the 24 hour classic at Daytona and the 12 hours classic at Sebring with HSR. It’s a lot of fun. It’s not on your level of racing but very fun.
I absolutely love Historic Endurance Racing, I'm planning to do at least Le Mans classic in 2021 with my 458 GTE
