great 4:18 min nostalgic during lunch time in the video there is a clock counting. so where can we see the rest?
Very nice video. Someone posted that last week. The Italian cars sound great including the steel block Stratos. 911 not so much . For those interested we still have the FIA rally with little to no protection, except in the USA.
During the practice days preceding that race my photographer pal Geoff Goddard and I did a lap in a green Fiat 124 hire car, with yours truly driving. We were bowling downhill through the tree-lined swerves between Collesano and Campofelice when an awful noise began to fill the cabin. I thought it was a front-wheel bearing breaking up, a squealing, howling mechanical noise. Then a flickering movement in the rearview mirror grabbed my intention. And scowling at me over the Fiat's trunk lid was Jacky Ickx, in his 312PB. I jabbed my arm out of the window to wave him by on our left. He slashed past into a fast, blind right-hander. We followed, tyres screaming at 75-80mph. As that blind corner opened out we could see 2-300 yards of straight ahead leading into a left-hander. The road was empty. Jacky and that works Ferrari had already gone...out of sight. I loved the Targa. Dear old Geoff adored it. DCN
