If the fuel system is holding pressure and if the engine has been shut-off for only a few minutes, the engine should restart almost on the first revolution.

 

The small momentary switch may be a hidden cut-out switch going to the alarm system. Try pushing it when the non-start happens again.

 

This was my thought also, what else would be non-standard, except the alarm system? I emailed the previous owner for clarity, but he only owned the car 4 years so may not know either.

 

One of my least favorite words in the English language is "should"! But agree. Now just hope it fails again so can test some suggestions?!?

 

You would think that but I can tell you based on 35 years experience with my 308, that isn't always the case.

 

Former owner states "I never opened the fuse box cover and have no idea what that is." Great.
