Can anyone recommend who they would use for a PPI in or near Carrollton, TX? (thats near Dallas) The owner said he knows of some mobile PPI folks, but I'd rather have a place where they can get it on lift and look closely at the suspension and undercarriage with the trays removed. Thank you!

Robert Rodgers, Shade Tree Enginetrics, Nevada, TX, just east of Dallas. He's the man for all cars italian.
I had a ppi done by a reputable dallas shop...... and I still items slide through the radar. If I were to do it all over again..... I would bring a knowledgeable f-chatter and do an add'l inspection on a lift with lower cover off...... it's extra work.... but it's extra pc of mind. Not taking anything away from the shop who did my ppi..... but they are under a time crunch, and you just don't inspect a thing like it's your own. things missed: 1 - headers blowing white powder out of the housing 2 - stock muffler blowing white powder out of housing 3 - weeping water pump 4 - leaking clutch hyd union Also my seller had a 'relationship' with the ppi shop.... probably not the best arrangement. Just some words from someone who's been through this as an f car newb 3+ yrs ago. ALSO I would want to see the following before I buy - cold start in person or video...... no smoke, does not start on half engine..... no cel let it warm up at idle for a long time.... no overheating..... no cel........ no leaks...... run the car through its paces.... hard on brakes, hard in corners.....hard accel.... make sure no slow down light...... no cel...... no leaks. ALSO - need to seen engine scan..... check LTFT's..... the health of the air fuel ratio controls..... tells you alot...... NO CEL's..... Make sure it can pass emissions....... ideally car will have current sticker.... GOOD LUCK!@!!!! this is a fun day.
That is some great info! Thank you! I planned on being there for the PPI as well. I FaceTimed with the seller and we went through some deep detail on things. He even cranked it and left it running to let it get to operating temperature but there will definitely be a test drive. It’s a higher mileage one at 26k but appears to be quite immaculate. We shall see!
See if the variators have been replaced if this car falls in the variator recall age....... somewhere around 2000-2001 if it's a 360. This can be big $$ and be a good nego point.
I would take it to Norwood Italia and have Michael look at it. They did a PPI on my 07 430 before I purchased it from the Lamborghini dealer. Norwood/Michael are excellent and thorough.
Just curious why you wouldn't select Boardwalk Ferrari to do the PPI? They are maybe 1/2 mile from the eastern Carrollton city limits line.
This is what I get for going out of town.... James and his team are a great option and will provide you the answers you need to make an informed purchase! A lot of good information in this thread too! Welcome to the family, in advance! Steve
Pretty sure those of us that are local had a chuckle about that. Norwoods and Boardwalk are what, 2 miles apart? Norwoods has a Carrollton address and Boardwalk is just across the line. @Husker, Robert at Shadetree doesn't work on cars as new as a 430, FYI. He stops at 355's for Ferrari's. He stopped at 348's until he acquired a 355.
Jim, I talked to him in May and he’s now got a 360 of his own that he’s gotten to know. He gave me the thumbs up to send mine down for work, so perhaps he’s good for the 430s too now? BTW is Norwood’s no longer next to love field ?
Haven't been for a long time. Now by Addison Airport. In Carrollton. Didn't know Robert got a 360! Good for him.
Another vote for Norwood’s. I take all my cars there. Michael is very through and provides a detailed report. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
