    Maybe a stupid question, but I can’t find any threads on this matter.

    My keys work fine, but as a preventative measure, since I’ve had them for over 4 years, if I replace the batteries quickly will the key lose its programming? I don’t want to attempt this only to find that I render the key useless and be obliged to get it reprogrammed...

    These are the key type I have for both my Ferrari’s

    Is there not a hint in your owners manual ? eg 599 p13 shows just this simple procedure

    Replace the remote control batteries as follows:

    - lever open the key cover C with a small
    screwdriver at the position indicated by
    the arrow;
    - remove the battery D, pushing in the direction
    indicated by the arrow to release
    it from the retainer cover E;
    - fi t a new battery of the same type, respecting
    the polarity as indicated;
    - close the key cover C.
