Maybe this is why HAAS is such a low budget team--so it can absorbe excessive Ferrari F1 programme costs and remain under the expense envelope.

This is a 'cost concious' effort by an industry owner to enhance his brand via the global stage. I dont sense any 'permanence' to their position in F1. Not yet. Without Mazepin money they were closest to leaving. I dont sense even under current fiscal numbers they are long term viable.

    Agreed

Despite them being a US team, they have never really inspired me. Neither their drivers nor their livery. Maybe having Mick there might change this. I wish them well and hope they can survive. This year's TV money certainly helped.

Not a single fact about the girl, her explanation, money exchanged. Zero. All internet hearsay from the anti-mazepin crowd. The internet crowd are an echo-chamber. They're now saying he's been accused of rape before (with zero proof).

If people don't want Mazepin, fine. But look for legit reasons for not wanting him in there, such as dangerous driving (has done that) and beating up Callum Illot. They're using him touching his friend/gf/escorts' tit as an excuse and him chatting to a flirty fan-girl as the reason not to want him, which is wrong.

The absolute facts are the womans' tit he touched said they're old friends and she didn't mind it and the internet are blowing it out of proportion. The other absolute fact is the woman he was flirting with online was teasing him herself and when the picture wasn't revealing enough for him he broke it off in a pretty respectful manner and she cried wolf.

They thought they could compete with the big boys by outsourcing everything. They aren't a racing team; they are a bunch of Airfix hobbyists. It is strange that a company that makes money by making things that make things but don't make anything on their race car. No big shock that they are at the ass end of the grid.

Good luck explaining that rationale to an expensive to run F1 team that has issues. Reality is Mazepin and his stupidity are on trial. Haas have every reason to doubt him as a viable public face for their team. A team designed to display/promote technology of Haas. Dont care 1 what happens to dumb entitled punk Russian brat. Welcome to the actual 'real world' where actions and results matter. Maybe he should just be the little playboy he has been so far raised to be. Missed he is not. Bye Mazzeepain lol!

Maybe the crime is small in itself, but the outrage it provokes is big.

What a way to make an entry in F1 !

Look at his history and temper tantrums after races. He has shown zero in terms of sophistication to enter F1 as viable, intelligent, 'astute' participant. He has a cool job and no accountability until now.

Money talks, especially for a team like Haas.

Mazzepin wasn't their best option to start with. Better option wouuld've been Schwartzman or Illott, or indeed Hulkenberg (at least Schumacher would have someone to take a real measure against).

However, factually nothing wrong with what he did that he's on trial for, except stupidity, but that's not a crime (yet).

    Agree,
The popular justice of social networks is abominable.
A French sociologist whose name I can’t remember had made this interesting analysis: «The more there is a desire to clean up the appearance of social networks, the more what happens in the back shop deteriorates»
In other words, the real criminals go completely under the radar by throwing a few bones to chew on the people like the Mazepin case.

The Haas Formula 1 team has reiterated its intention to run Nikita Mazepin for 2021 and has concluded its internal investigation into his recent conduct in an online video.

The team released a statement on Wednesday that confirmed the Russian driver would join Mick Schumacher as an all-rookie line-up for 2021 as previously announced.

The team had been conducting an investigation into the incident where Mazepin appeared to inappropriately touch a woman in the back of a car which took place ahead of the 2020 F1 season finale in Abu Dhabi and was briefly uploaded to his Instagram account.

The statement read: "Haas F1 Team would like to reaffirm that Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher will form its driver line-up for the 2021 FIA Formula 1 world championship.

"As per the team's previous statement regarding the actions of Nikita Mazepin (9 December) - this matter has now been dealt with internally and no further comment shall be made."

The speaking around circles of F1 is this is the doorway to purchase later by Mazepin Sr. He was never to be released. I give Haas 2 more years then ink is dry! :)

He has to be under the utmost scrutiny now. I didn't know he's had a history of controversy on the track itself regarding unsafe driving in F2, so him pulling any sort stunt similar has to be an automatic, "You're out".

Sweet double standards going on. The billionaire son crap driver Stroll is the worst thing to ever happen to F1, but the billionaire son crap driver Mazepin should be welcomed, because grabbing a girl's breast on Instagram all of the sudden brings back the James Hunt badboy vibe? I'm sure Mazepin's financial involvement will somewhat soften the blow for Gene, but Haas F1 is done for. Rookie drivers will not be of any help to further develop a rubbish design. I'm guessing the Russian will get bored quite soon being lapped after 10 laps...

Mazepin has no place in F1 after his stunt. Back to F-whatever series but not F1. He should be released. Period.

Mazepin to include HAAS are getting alot of negativity for this "social-media" stunt that seems to be swept under the rug($$$$$$$$$$$$).

On one end, HAAS has employed Mick but Mazepin's stunt has overshadowed the whole team.

Mazepin is on thin ice. He needs to be ultra-clean on and off the track for the foreseeable future.

Well, F1 has races in countries that still impose concentration camps or forbid women from doing what men can do.
