Very nice. You really should put them back on your car. The former owner made a mistake taking those off.
Paint 'em green and paint the targa top white, put another bloody shield in the middle of that and you'll have what most of the population see when they see a wanker Ferrari driver. As if they needed another reason to hate us!
My experience has been pretty decent from strangers. I know the lambo guys get a lot of random abuse thrown at them, but so far I've only had positive experiences in my Ferrari. It's the friends/family/co-workers you need to be more careful of. They are the ones that act very differently when they find out you've got one.
I honestly can't remember ever getting the "Ferrari wanker" treatment from strangers or anyone I know. The closest would have been some jokes from work colleagues about "mid-life crisis" red sports car etc. Nothing at all from family or friends. Most of them either love the car or are totally indifferent and couldn't care less. Maybe only people with cars without shields are viewed as Ferrari owning wankers?
Yeah maybe it's just the circles I move in. Once you own a car of this value people tend to look at you/treat you differently if they know you. Work people in particular. I've made a point to not broadcast it, or bring it into work etc. Strangers on the other hand are generally really good. Loads of thumbs up/smiles etc. I heard a story from a Lambo owner telling me he got abused everywhere he went, but that's certainly not been my experience. I think (maybe?) Ferrari's tend to get a different response from people... I can postulate why, but I don't want to cause offense. I already got banned once this month.
It might just be my personal take/bias, but from my experience F cars tend to be more appreciated as enthusiasts cars (particularly the classics) whereas the L cars are more owned by the flamboyant types. Hence the different reactions they get from people I suppose. I could be totally off base of course.. What would I know, I've got stick on shields after all.
Of course when you own a Ferrari .A: without shields and B: when the car is prior to 1986.then the folks out there know you're quite obviously a connoisseur, knowledgeable of the marque's history and know how to use a manual centre console mounted gearstick and will therefore be extremely positive in their outlook to the owner/driver knowing that she/he is a proper enthusiast Logical really.
I'da been in deep doodoo if I'd stopped at the last carby cars and,as we all know, the QV was the second best of the 308/328 line of cars...no question!
Watch it mate, you might get banned for saying something like that I'd know, been banned a few times in the F1 section
In performance, yep of course,in pecking order the Vettro is 1st......or shall we start another poll on that?
