Richard. Were you able to get the Kline Valve controller to function properly? We got a replacement unit because the first one never worked properly. The replacement unit works a bit better, but is still very glitchy. Sometimes it closes rapidly on its own. It’s been a pain in the ass.
yeah but who spends their life driving below 3.5k rpm when the valves are closed ?? you dont need a valve controller
i’d say normal driving is up to about 5.5k rpm. I believe the stock valve function monitors throttle to trigger valve opening as well. If not enough throttle given, valve might still be closed even at 6k rpm. Not sure. I do know it’s quieter than stock driving “normally” around town.
Appreciate you doing the comparisons and sharing the information. My priorities were as follows when searching: 1) Most F1 like sound for my Scud 2) Take as much weight out as possible (because racecar) 3) lower the heat (protect CF) Just curious did you weigh the SLine versus the Kline? I have not weighed them, the s-line is lighter though (compared to SS version of Kline). The inconel may be lighter than Sline I don't know. Comparing the stainless steel versions of both though, it is natural that the kline is heavier. It has more piping along with the muffler and valves.

Thanks, I found a US source: Tiptemps. They aren't cheap but I watched race teams use them in various places to record max temps. The ones I bought are "reversible", meaning after the heat is removed and you record the temp, they return to ambient temperature. The engine compartment is what I am concerned with. You can also do brake calipers. Thanks for the tip! Ray

Interested in this as we plan to convert our F430 to a scud copy CF rear bumper/diffuser including a scud muffler and catless test pipes and aftermarket headers . Our solution to Exhaust heat is to first use Swain tech ceramic coating , which is a real ceramic/ porcelain coating ( not a paint-like jet hot ) It should provide about 50 % heat blockage and is very inexpensive about $500 for a set of headers . Swain Tech coatings are used by all the top NASCAR racers . If more heat proofing is desired/required we will use the high temp wraps available on top of the ceramic coating .the wraps are good to 2,000 Deg F and we have wrapped pipes for 30+ years w/ Zero issues and the guys that have had issues are just using the wrong wrap ! Sorry ! more expensive and effective options can include header blankets and Inconel shielding or thermomet , et all .
