How's the Old Forester? I've bought their 1870 and 1920 (Prohibition style) grades. The 1920 really knocks your socks off!
Thank you. She was 16, and absolutely got the very best she could out of every day. Spoiled like no other. Sad to say goodbye, but we should all be so lucky to have the quality and length of life she did.
Here’s to you Armedferret I’ll drink this and watch my dog Bentley snore on the couch. View attachment 2316248
I’d say it was just OK. The blind sample #1 from Pennsylvania was awesome. Better than Paddy Van Winkle. I have to find out what it was. Sorry about your kitty, Mark. We’ve said goodbye to two. Matt
If you liked the 1920 (after the initial warmth) give Statesman a try. Lower proof but very similar profile and delicious. If it were a limited release it would probably be much more talked-about. Fantastic sub-50-dollar bottle.
Well this was serendipitous. One per day so I'm headin back tomorrow lol Image Unavailable, Please Login
For me it’s scotch (and 9th grade). Took me 30 years to stop dry heaving if I just smelled the stuff. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Same with my dad and scotch, bad experience way back and he never touched it again. Luckily I don’t have any to avoid. Even with some bad experiences...
I had to do a little tradecraft today but got two more bottles (and my second was their next to last one). Middle is for me, the other two are gifts for good friends. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Haven't had any of this in a while.....and at 127 and change, a little dab'll do ya Image Unavailable, Please Login The glass is funky cause it's a relief of the Grand Canyon from Whiskey Peaks.
Second go around with this bourbon ... I still don't get it. I'll give it kudos for being different, and if you like a splash of sambuca in your whiskey this is the one for you. Otherwise definitely not worth the price imo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
After yesterdays unpleasantness, I decided to crack this open and try it for the first time ever. Fantastic first impression, mix of subtle smokey hues, and at 117 will gently hand crank your Weiner warmer without being too harsh. I like it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I needed an Old Fashioned last night. Sugar, Amerena cherries, orange bitters, muddled followed with 2 measures of Wild Turkey Rare Breed and a twist stirred over ice. It was a tranquilizer. If y’all haven’t tried Rare Breed yet get some. I love it straight this is my first mixed drink with it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Went for a wonder around the local liquor stores today and stumbled into this: Image Unavailable, Please Login It's a very interesting bourbon that I had been looking for for a while ... looking forward too trying it.
