Ok, so as I am still waiting for the phone to ring and I am getting that sinking feeling, I thought "why not" a F12 TDF instead. Yes I know we don't know the price, specs etc etc for the 812VS but would a F12 TDF be a good second prize? Although prices have trended downwards on TDF's its a "unicorn" and hence always admired. Not sure the 812VS will "dent" the TDF's unicorn status - The Pista certainly didn't dent the Speciale's status
The TDF imo is the most beautiful modern ferarri made (ex Laf). I am sure it will hold up well longer term. Very few seem to ever hit the market - any idea what they are changing hands for?
Not sure (but hearing) 700k+ Euro for prime examples. Going to do some homework - Any opinion on yellow?
It is a great choice but if you want to get a car with very low miles and great spec you will need to pay a lot of money, much more than the 812VS will cost. The last really great looking car I saw change hands here in Switzerland sold for well over 800k EUR Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Where are you waiting to get the call? Europe or Aus? How many cars have you bought from the same dealer? As this same dealer ultimately decides. There is no rush on the TDF as the 812VS will be less than the $800k you will pay now. BTW - Most TDF’s were circa $600k usd when new. So the uptick at the moment isn’t that bad. Color wise I don’t thing you can go wrong!! My favorites are; 1. Red with Stripe and gold wheels 2. Triple layer yellow 3. Silver Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login May the Horse be with you
I know the car, it is very nice...Blaise always has very good cars, but given this is not ultra low mileage (5400km) and the interior is not for everybody (Black&yellow with yellow seatbelts) I think it is priced correctly, even if it sells around 800k EUR (864k CHF)...The car I am referring to had a very beautiful spec, under 1500km and sold for more than the asking price of this one. There is a surprising amount of demand for nicely specced TDF. Confirms my view that the prices of limited Ferrari are very dependent on colour and spec. Get it wrong and they are hard to shift. Yup - he does . And your sell price 850-865k CHF is correct. What do you think a "perfect" spec car should sell for in CHF?
Depends...I have seen a tailor made dark blue car (unique colour) with very low miles that could reach 1m CHF if the owner ever decided to part with it. Otherwise high 800s for non-red, non-yellow cars with tasteful interior. At the same time I have seen “weak” spec cars with 3000-6000km trade for as little as high 600s to dealers for stock. The range is very wide Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Soon enough we will hear the pricing on the 812 VS, but one question is: what will the market be on the secondhand market? I remember the TDF rocketing up to $1.2-$1.3 mil during the peak bubble and now they seem to move around d $8-900k (still about 50% more than MSRP). So the question is if the 812 VS MSRP is around $8-900k, will they be over $1 mil on the secondhand market ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree, this will be very interesting to watch how it plays out. I always loved the F12 over the 812. So a TDF would be more valuable to me than an 812VS. May the Horse be with you
Agreed. Cant go wrong with TDF on TDF. Very classy color and does not look flat under dull light. My favorite blue.
I agree that F12 is more beautiful than the TDF and, in my opinion, more beautiful than the 812. I'm biased: I have the F12, 2016 with LOTS of miles on it. Rosso California color, special order.
