Have a long term friend whom over the last 3 years or so has embraced the following: - world war three is currently in progress under China - large raptor like creatures shape shift into humanoid creatures and walk amongst us - 90% of the worlds population will be annihilated in 2021 - Covid vaccines contain a chip that allows the government to track us - the lunar landing in 1969 never occurred - the Philippines is hiding 23 trillion USD gold bars in a cave and he's met an ex CIA operative that's going to help him recover it if he can only receive a further $10,000 USD to assist with the operation (Yes, he gave him the $10,000) I could go on, but I suspect most here get the drift. It's absolutely impossible to actually enter a reasonable discussion about this. I've asked for evidence of the above, a photograph would suffice however he becomes very aggressive, saying; you have your head in the sand. When you question why last years prediction failed to materialise (November 4, 2020, all international flights will resume) there's always some excuse as why it didn't occur at the said date. The piece de resistance is his new business venture. He sold his beautifully renovated house in Melbourne to fund the business some 5 years ago and he's blown the lot. The business will fail (Like his other two before that) and he'll be on the streets, penniless at 60. I think there's a mental health issue going on here, but curious to know if anyone else has come across such whoms? Greg and anyone from Queensland came to mind.
I know a farmer in Nth Qld who gave away almost 1/2m to the Nigerians because they were going to receive 10m US from the diplomat who siphoned off the money before the civil unrest. Believe it or not.
My late father told me of a similar scenario with a medical colleague. You would hope a physician would have a certain degree of intelligence to start with but apparently not. It's amazing that otherwise functional and hard working people get conned by this stuff.
It all comes down to greed and the promise of a quick buck. Some of the dumbest people I know are very intelligent people.
I was thinking of a few names, but didn't want to go there, because (a) they don't think they're dumb, and (b) I don't think they're smart.
+1 . Friend used to be bank manger in Sydney, 10 years ago told me a story about an older client who came to their attention because he started to make sizeable O/S transfers . Next time he came in to the branch he pulled him aside for a chat, discoverd the money was going to an overseas scammer. Had a hard time convincing the client, who refused to believe him and that the money was gone ( around 100k as I recall)
I'm on the CAN, second Monday in a row I've had to endure this for the following Tuesday .... Image Unavailable, Please Login
