Here's my new GTO grill, I think this was one of the last ones in stock in the U.S. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Impertinent price for a piece of metal without function, but nevertheless worth every penny. I love it !!! Daniel Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
George, Daniel- That new grille should be good for an easy 10 mph more top speed. They look great, so they have to be faster, right?
I found it for 1,000 but as high as 1,350 before shipping from the factory. Also, no telling what they would send. I needed someone who had one they could pull out of the box and take a picture to send me. That price is without the cavalino.
Thanks George. My main reason for being interested is for protection of exposed expensive equipment from stones propelled by passing trucks or cars. Often times, the stones' velocity and sizes aren't enough to even cause a cracked windshield but it only takes one errant stone of such mass and velocity to cause appreciable damage. Besides, the GTO grill's mesh matches the design of both front vents' grill on either side, although the egg crate design is traditional and looks more luxurious. As far as the Cavallino Rampante is concerned, I'd probably just reinstall the original HGTE matt aluminum cavallino my car has.
Looks like I have a few issues on the car this year. A small leak in the oil cooler and a small leak in the radiator, both very fixable. I'm not replacing these units at this time as the pieces alone would be 10K. . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep. My radiator "leak" lost about 1 cup of water over a year's time, and I drive pretty often. It is staying put until we need to do something or we take things in that area apart. Then off to the radiator shop to be welded. It is nice that we have aluminum radiators instead of plastic.
Here's the amount of stuff caught between the radiator and condensor. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Correct. I noticed a slight oil leak on the garage floor and with the under tray on the car, it could have been coming from anywhere. So when they discovered the leak in the oil cooler they also discovered the leak in the radiator. The car is 13 years old with over 44K on it, I can't be upset about this.
So, here's the radiator repair, a new Hill rear tie rod since I had the one on the other side done two years ago, and the oil cooler repair. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isn't that amazing the amount of stuff that flies into the front grill? I had no idea but the GTO grill should really help.
Hope everyone is fine. Car just came back from service and its ready for the English Summer if we actually get to see the sun lol. looks like the trip to Europe this summer will be cancelled most probably so of to Scotland we go fingers crossed if its allowed. Otherwise its trips up and down the Motorway and maybe to country side pubs if they open. So basically it looks like its going to stay parked where it is. The Spring tune up is now complete. I must say the straight pipes are a huge improvement and contrary to what some people had said, the drone in the cabin when you're in 6 cruising on the highway is really no different than with the cats which I'm happy about. I'm not sure but it seems like the flaps are not closing all the way at idle because the exhaust is so much more free, this too is not objectionable. The radiator and oil cooler repair seem to be working fine. Enclosed is a picture of the F1 relay with 44K on it. It looks fine to me which leads me to believe that the placement of this unit in the 360 and 430 is the real problem. The Scud Ing Swiss unit is now in the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So I took the car in today to have the clutch life read, I don't trust myself with the OBD to read it correctly. It turns out I still have about 50% life on the clutch with 44.7 K on clock. I'm really happy about this and now I will concentrate on having the front suspension done in the Spring. Shocks and ball joints (Hill) for sure, maybe bushings depending on how they look.
