I know what you mean, but a catback change will only affect the warranty on that part of the exhaust - as it does not affect the engine, ECU etc. Hence "safer", albeit not bullet-proof. Decatting is a LOT riskier for example.
I have the same set-up on my FF, Novitec, Capristo and remote for the valve. Sounds perfect to me, quieter inside with the windows up than the MC Stradale I owned before it but I think that’s the double glazing and sound deadening. Outside, it’s wild and sounds superb.
You don't need to mess with the ecu for sport cats. Cheapest bang for your buck is this. Sport cats Capristo x pipe Capristo OBD Wizard Capristo exhaust controller This is a very affordable setup. I find that the x pipe get less drone when running sport cats. It also offers a more unique sound. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have Novitec exhaust ... will add 200 cell sport cat and X pipe ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Will ECU tune void Power Warranty? Who carries sport cats for the FF other than Novitec and Kline? Any other choices? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Certainly will void it Kline and Novitec are the only ones I know . I believe Quite a few make cat less pipes though . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am looking at precisely this (after your sage advice on another exhaust thread) with but Brookes Racing Exhaust stainless steel X Pipe and 200 CEL. Anyone any experience of this setup and sound? I am obviously also concerned the 200CEL cat setup voids my PowerTrain Warranty (18 months renaming on that). That’s my only blocker from pressing go! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Brookes makes 200 cell cats? Also does anyone know where I can get the Novitec tail lights? I was told they are out of production and switched to a CF cover ... any pics of these ? I fear the cover will still leave the rear face red instead of being all black. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe they are German top end ones (HJS?) they then put into their own UK built exhausts in Inconel or Stainless. Happy to be corrected! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Novitec ones were a disaster as they failed which is why they’ve been discontinued. Scud ing will repair the Novitec originals and they now make their own version to order ... https://www.scuding.com/Shop/en/rear-lights-optical-clusters/118-ferrari-458-599-ff-darker-taillight.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Exactly. This is the most common thing really. Kline, Akrapovic, Novi, Capristo, and Fabspeed all use either 100 or 200 cell HJS cats. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Brooks does very nice work from what I'm told. While all manufactures offer one kind of X-pipe or another, they do sound different. It really depends on how much each side is blended. H-pipe is also a very cool option if they will make it. It will sound deeper and more raw, but it might also add some drone. So as,I have not heard the Brooks x-pipe for this application, I cannot tell you how it sounds. Some here, including Karl, prefer the sport cats with stock centre section and aftermarket rear. Talk to Brooks and ask the how they see their xpipe sound compared to their competitors. That's probably the best advice you can get. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Now for a dumb question... do these exhaust mods result in failing the dreaded E-check that some US states / counties require. I have heard that it’s an issue. The car sounds great stock but I know it could be way better. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
No check engine on ff for me but car wouldn’t pass smog as the monitors didn’t want to clear. Had to drive it a few hundred miles to finally pass Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please do post before and after audio if you can. Really interested to hear the difference the sport cats make. Given the mods (Sport cats and tune) will void the power warranty I think I am just going to wait until it expires. I only have about 12mo left.

Sounds great. Thanks for sharing. Has anyone just swapped the stock for sport cats and left the factory H pipe and exhaust in place? Wondering how much difference the back boxes really make after the sport cats are installed as long as you have a valve controller on the stock exhaust.
The cats are the difference, just check my videos I put all the different combination possible on there. The CATs were the difference maker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
