Does anybody know anything about this car? I realize most enthusiasts are not fans of repainted Ferrari's but I like white with the yellow calipers/seatbelts on it. Any thoughts on it (other than just the repaint issue ?? Thanks https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-ferrari-360-spider-19/
Good: low miles, MT, no reported accidents Bad: repaint (imho will kill future resale), blue interior. it is 5 years overdue for belts. So what else has been overlooked? I also prefer white, as I said today to my daughter when she and I were washing her 91 white VW cabriolet “white is the mother of all elephant colors.” But I’ll never buy or change the color of a car again. Been there done that not worth it. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Oh and don’t worry about the so called purists ... they flock in droves behind a keyboard... but never materialize in the real world. Buy her for the right price and enjoy.
One4torque- This car was actually owned by somebody in Houston for awhile. Any chance you ever ran into it?
Interesting color, I live in Houston and have never seen it out. Probably why it only has 10k miles! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I got into f cars in the San Antonio area... just returned to Houston... so never saw this car. But with so little miles it was not out much. post up impressions when you get time... love the white!
I'd assume a 360 spider owned by someone that doesn't believe in services is going to at least need a new heat exchanger, replacement of the capote rams, power steering pump... has anyone even been checking stuff like the fuel pump tops and rollover valves?
The car went from CA to FL to TX where it was owned by a body shop and repainted. I would assume the car has a bit of history based on that and the deferred maintenance.
Full paint 10k miles makes me think she got a crash history maybe not on CarFAXs. She is a 6 speed manual. Got no service history blue top Going to hurt it a little. Full repaint I’m going to hurt it a boatload.
Looks like the sticky buttons have been taken care of. Clean car really low miles I’m seeing easy 6 figs on this ride. What u guys think
IMO there is accident history that is not showing up on Carfax. A Body shop owned it, hmmm.....C'mon fellas. This car also has not been lovingly maintained. It's a can of worms i think. I am soon to be in the market for a gated 360/430 and i wouldn't even ask for more detailed pictures on this particular and i'm a rookie (according to my FChat designation). Just my two cents.
Exactly. A body shop doesn't repaint a car just for the fun of it, and whats hiding under that shiny paint? IF I was tempted (i'm not) I would need a Ferrari body expert to go over that car with a fine toothed comb looking for any irregularities and more importantly, bent/ improperly repaired/replaced frame sections. Even if all the signs are good it's still repainted a non-original color and the next owner is looking at a lot of $$$ to bring maintenance up to date..
I got to spend a week in Valencia, Spain for a conference at the convention center and loved it!! Met some America's cup crew at the harbor, etc. I have to wonder why there are no pictures of the top! I would ask to see them and talk to the seller to see what else you can learn. Sometimes people will tell you more than you ever wanted to know. imho its a little beyond the bargain price range.
Check the vin against auction sites and copart etc. Use all the issues as bargaining tools..., get a deal. it’s called negotiation. In the mean time us Internet jockeys will point all possible negative outcomes.., because buying a car is scary. gl enjoy the process... filter your information
I have a very similar car but the paint is original. I get many compliments about the color combo. If the price is right you will have a unique ride. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rare spec for a reason.. to each their own.. but you couldn't pay me to own that. The interior is too smurfy for my taste.
I love white. My favorite car color. I used to paint cars back in the day. I’ve become very pragmatic. Easiest color to maintain. I would trade my red one for an original white. But I’ll never change the color of one of my cars again. Color change, even if done well, may hurt more in narrowing the buyer market and make resale more difficult. But you may not care. How much paint and bodywork is on the car? A decent quality paint thickness meter will be your friend. Make sure you get one that will work with aluminum panels. I bring mine when I buy any used car. Amazing what you find. I don’t care what the seller thinks of me using it, and it won’t hurt the finish. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
