I need rear shocks for my 2002 456M GT. Only $1790 ea from FNA (at least they are available). Is it worth looking into having mine rebuilt and if so who can do it? Thanx.
Most folks will recommend Delta Vee out of K-zoo Michigan but they have a 6 week+ turn around time on rebuilding your core so your car will be down. I just dropped my 2003 GTA off at Blackhorse here in LA on Monday, Carl was able to locate some new rear shock gaskets/seals (?) and is going to rebuild mine on-site today. It cannot be super complex (although he is an extremely talented wrench). Happy to not have to wait. Good luck !
yup Delta Vee is great just did the shocks on my 550 Rob is a great guy pleasure to do business with ! I got a set... one from a friend and bought one off ebay sent them in got em back had installed no down time on my car. If anybody would like to do that I have the set that came off 550 send me a PM Rob Schermerhorn Delta Vee Motorsports LLC 10590 W KL Ave Kalamazoo, MI 49009 text: 888.407.5122
I used Rob at Delta Vee too, and although there was a long turnaround time, he went above and beyond with customer service. I don't have eperience with these guys but they claim to do it: https://rebuildmastertech.com/ferrari-456-456m-1992-2004-oe-rebuilt-replacement-rear-shock-absorber-183636/ Regarding Blackhorse and shock rebuilding, the Bilstein part is standard, the area that no one seems to be able to do (except Delta Vee) is the Ferrari engineered mode adjuster and seals. I'd ask if they are doing this.
They only do the shocks, not the actuating rod and seals. (At least last time I talked to them that was the case)
