So it’s time for timing belt service. When I do replace them I’m planning on replacing all tensioner pulleys, the valve cover gaskets and the cam seals because one is leaking slightly. Which Ferrari parts vendors have had the most responsible pricing in your experience?

The UK YouTuber called Ratarossa made a video of changing the belts and tensioners in a 355 with the engine in the car. He removed the fuel tank which provided good access to the front of the engine and the belts.

Could we do the same with a Mondial?

Depends which mondial you are talking about, the ones prior to the T, you can do by taking the back wheel off.

In 31 years of ownership I had them belts on my "t" changed once. I was thinking maybe I should have them changed soon sometime soon, maybe this year?

    Hello Wily B,

Pure curiosity: What is your driving style ?
No prejudice at all, but to go for more than triple the advised "best before" date seems rather daring when using the upper part of the rev-meter regularly...

How did those belts look when you finally took them out ?

    Best regards,

    Mondy Cab

FWIW, I got about 8 years on mine. When they were replaced they looked decent, not near the end of life. But my cam seals were starting to leak, so it was time. I am guessing around 10,000 miles or so.

    Regards,
    Jerry
