I have been saying this for the longest time. Last NA. It will go up in price. In addition, not just 458 but all exotics are coming up in value. 488, being the middle child will hover.
And here I had 4 of them and didnt hold. LOL. Enjoyed immensely. The bubble will burst, just a matter of time.
All high-end car prices are up. Heck, even Hyundai dealers asking for a significant markup over MSRP on new cars.
It's different, really different this time. In the near future, if you want a new, rear-mid-engine Ferrari with a V8, it will cost you $600K ++ (once the F8 is out of production, all that will remain will be V8+hybrid (as well as being turbo)). That's going to impact the pre-owned market, forever. Once the LB (small V6+turbo+hybrid) replaces the F8, I suspect 458 prices will continue to increase, lots of room between 250K and 600K to expand into. And that's not even considering the impact of vast increases in the fiat money supply. And, it's not just the 458 Italia/Spider prices increasing, 458Speciale and even the Pista...
+1 you just have to look at the price of old air-cooled 911s. As much as people love turbos for daily driving, who's going to be making a 90deg flat plane V8 that revs to over 8,000rpm in the future?
Humm... Great auction result and it bodes well for all of the 458 owners, as the indications show continued upward support in prices for 458’s, in both Coupe and Spider and other variants. As for me, I’m still not selling, I would not even take triple what I paid for it! I love my 2015 458 Italia far too much to part with it - the sensual flowing curves, the handling, the engine “music,” the driver focused interior (Thank you Mr. Schumacher for your contributions to the driver focused steering wheel), the way it seems to become a part of you when you drive it - down to your DNA, the stunning Pininfarina styling, the seductive mid-engine layout and lots more. It’s utterly addictive and I love the experience it gives me when I drive it on the twisty bits! “Hello, my name is Rexcat and I’m a Ferrari 458 addict... It’s been two days since I’ve driven my 458... (Raining almost every day here of late). Cheers!

Agreed I tried to buy a Toyota van and it was 5k over asking All is up: FF, classics, 458 etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't think the 458 will go to 600K, but, once the F8 has finished production, the only new V8 production (read mid engine) will be the SF90 (and its eventual replacement) and that's 600K++. That will leave a large gap that I presume will also affected pre-owned V8 pricing (into the future).
Yes, prices seem to be inflated for everything right now. A bubble that will burst at some point. This we know. But 458 will drop in value the least. And it will be the last to drop. And for reasons mentioned above. It's on it's way to become an icon and one of the all time greats. And I would make this claim even without owning one.
Could not agree more. I’ve owned my fair share of amazing cars but typically sell them when I get really good offers. I’ve had offers for my 458 25% over what I paid about two years ago which would usually result in me selling and moving to the next but it would take at least 100% increase in price for me to even think about selling and I likely would still not sell. Nothing out there under $1mil does it for me like the 458. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
