A few things has been done. It looks like i did some progress but i feel huge work left.... Here are some pics which i think maybe interesting: As some pipes and some parts of the interior coated with white nano ceramic heat barrier "paint", i hope will make big difference in comfort..... Both water pipes coated so the hot pipe will not heat up the colder return pipe .... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Also glued the insulation as factory specs and glued the carpets.. I used some magnetic cones to hold it in place until the glue cures... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought the project will not take more than 2 years, i was wrong.... Some progress: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I found out that the rear rubber brake line is an exact replacement from a VW LT. But 4€ / pair ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just realised that i posted so long ago! Mostly these big projects are never finished. So i have a few minor issues left( rev counter mostly dead, tachometer needs to be converted from mile to kmh Adrian just helping me....) , but the car has been dyno-runin/ tested ecu programed and made some trips with it. I like it very much now, the power results are as i expected and i think it's just enough ... the powerband is very usable and wide. Fuel consumption looks fairly low... i think the average could be 10L/100km. It took i think 12/14 month more than it could be but unexpected things can be happend. In my case the first painter refused to do the job after 6month delay so i had to find another which added another 3 month as we reached christmas and they had jobs to finish.. Also the designing and finishing the airbox made some delays too..... Anyway some pics: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login After a long time. I decided to post a few pictures to encourage anybody who thinking to make a similar modification. 2 years of use proved it to be a very good setup. It goes fast , fuel efficient and very smooth. 200km/h is like 1/2 throttle! I would not go any much faster anyway. I'm not brave enough I think more power would need tuned brakes, suspension, etc. Which needs bigger wheels and so on and on.... Which has more pressure on the bodywork. I would like to thank everybody on this forum for a lot of info and experience which helped me to make my project !
Hi Mickey Nice job, where did you get the bolts to block off the air nozzle holes? Are they standard brass ( or other material ) bolts that have been turned to fit ? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Great idea, I’ll get some specs when I take the air injectors out, thanks Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
