Nice to read, but still the language is like defensive. Im sure that the Generation X'ers will start boosting prices soon, and the fact that having been so cheap, owners dont put up the $$$ to restore and many/most of them are let die or get in unrecoverable shape, and we will have less worthy example out there.

Funny thing is that I've met many high-end collectors who actually have these Mondial in the back of their hangar, and actually LOVE them! A 2+2 mid-engine true Ferrari to enjoy with family... hey!

    Thanks for sharing...

Truth be told, the Mondial does get a bad rap. However, most folks are coming around to the fact that much of it was overblown. I've owned many cars, the Mondial is one I will never part with.

TOTALLY AGREE... Cant see myself parting away from mine at any point. (Unless my wife ends up with it to enjoy with any future gent, which most probably would be marrying her for her (my) car ! Couldnt blame him. :):):))

Recall the 400, Gt/4 Dinos, even the 348 were regarded as poor step child’s.
40 years ago so was the 246 Dinos.....

The respect came when the values went up.
The Mondial is gaining value and the respect it deserves.
Never owned any car so long as this. 19 years.

In my opinion, Mondials are criticized not for what they are, but for what they aren't. People have in their head what a Ferrari is "supposed" to be. They are not a high powered two seater supercar that boys with toys can show off their cool and cost and vroom around in to impress others. OK, I don't mean to demean supercars but the point is that is not what Mondials are about. What they are is a beautifully balanced, grand tourer road car designed to whisk 2 adults with family comfortably around the small windy roads of Europe and move easily along at speed on the autoroutes. They perform that function beautifully and with style. They are reliable and well constructed for their purpose and do not require high maintenance specialists to keep them running. And yet they also provide a wonderful road and driving experience while performing what they do so well. I enjoy mine for what it is which is what I want and need.
