^^^ is one the inherent features of the Senna, it’s simply not for everyone. The design language either works for you, or it doesn’t.

I love the TdF but don’t feel compelled to swap my Senna for one, so I guess that’s my answer. The 812 fully satisfies my V12 needs.

The Senna certainly isn’t pretty but I find it’s very spec dependent and much more impressive in person than in photos.

Very polarising style. Personally not for me but what I do find interesting is the styling ethos and heritage of the differing companies. Ferrari has always said grownup, elegant, gentlemanly to me. Lambo.....posterboy, ego, burning the candle. McClaren, I've always had trouble pigeonholing. It's like they do not have a style of their own and have cobbled together bits of competitors with exaggerated aero. Also interesting is the number of owners who I've spoke to in the UK that have had massive reliability/parts cost issues and would never go back to the brand yet in the U.S. there seems to be some sort of pedestal that the brand is elevated to. Possible something to do with the panache of owning a British sportscar but not something I can fathom. Personal opinions of course.

It’s certainly not the panache of owning a British sports car…. Have you driven a 765LT? If not, you really should…

It may not be for you but I suspect it it for many in the U.S. I'm thinking Triumph, MG, Lotus.... the list goes on where in my experience, for many in the UK these are just unreliable turds but they are loved overseas.

Not driven a 765LT but spent lots of time in a 720s and frankly I found it surgical and unemotional albeit very, very fast.

I found the 720S exactly how you characterized it. I tried multiple times to fall in love. The dealer was kind enough to give me ample seat time. Try as I might, I could never get to point where the car moved me. Fast forward to the 765LT, it cures all the shortcomings. Drive one. You’ll thank me later.

I know a ton of McLaren owners, and in all my conversations, both online and offline, I have never once heard anyone discuss its British heritage. Not even a single mention. Frankly, I just do not see that as a compelling factor. What gets discussed in EVERY conversation is the jaw-dropping, space/time bending, mind/mood altering performance.

Meanwhile the Senna occupies an exclusive niche: you can drive it to any circuit, outperform any road car in existence, and then drive it home. There will never be another car like it. It’s the T Rex of ICE cars. It’s the baddest of the dinosaurs.

Personally, I would love to add one, and hopefully, someday I just might. For now, I like having multiple cars for the same money.

Thanks. Can’t really go wrong with papaya spark.

T Rex of ICE cars…. I’ve never thought of it that way but it’s an appropriate analogy.

It will be interesting to see what the Ferrari does with the Icona F40. Will it follow the original concept (and Senna’s) of big aero appendages and maximum weight reduction or allow it to be heavier but include hybrid tech (NSX strategy)?

Yes I told him if he ever sells it, to run it by me.
He just sold his beautiful TDF to another acquaintance of mine.

I thought the Senna was ugly at first too. But…. Once you lay your eyes on the Mclaren Sabre, then quickly glance back at the Senna - it’s now fricken gorgeous!
TDF all the way - voted with my wallet.
