it's almost like Giovinazzi is auditioning to stay in F1 interesting qualifying. good for GIO and GAS. bummer for Williams and Lando
The car does good on short twisty non- power circuits. The car doesn't do so well on long power circuits where the race-pace of the SF-21 lacks. And when it rains, the car takes a nose-dive in performance.
Putting emotions aside, Red Bull has been a more successful team than Ferrari in recent years as the results show. The title is within grasp for Verstappen this year; it would be stupid for him going anywhere else. Ferrari has a good pairing, with Leclerc and Sainz, but needs to make better cars to aim at the title..
I do not wear Rossa tinted glasses. And what I would love to see is Russell and Ham in Merc vs Max and Lando in Red Bull next season. That would be a dream come true and would be a cracker of a season.
what’s interesting is that suggests the AT is actually the better car? Gasly is regularly outperforming Perez and Red Bull, but struggled in the Red Bull.
Do you think there is perhaps a reason why red bull has been faster than ferrari in 2020 and 2021; maybe something do with a certain engine penalty? I guess your "recent" means just those two seasons. Which team was stronger in 2017, 2018, 2019?
Agreed. He has a winning car with a winning engine and a winning team whom do sub-2 sec. pit-stops on a regular basis.
Pretty bold to assume Ferrari can't be a winning team starting next season. They've put all their eggs on that basket, being in midfield next season would be a total failure for Ferrari. Finally all the limiting factors from the 2019 engine punishment are off; championships are their goal starting from 2022 (literally Binotto's and Charles' words)
I am not sure about the reason, but I have seen Ferrari's form declining and Red Bull improving. That's enough for me to believe that Max should stick with Red Bull.
Exactly, only time will tell about 2022. RB or Merc don't have anymore of a chance than Ferrari to nail the new regs
Hope springs eternal. If, and it is big if, Ferrari can deliver a genuine race winning car, then they don’t need Max because Chuck will do the job and Carlos will win races too. I hope.
Time will tell if I am wrong, but I would think that RB and Mercedes are better organisations, mostly on the technical side. I wouldn't discount McLaren either. These 3 will be Ferrari's main opponents next year, I believe.
I have to disagree on McLaren, I don't think they are quite ready for the top yet. Brown has been talking a lot about 2024 as their goal when their facilities get up to date.
But seriously, how good is that Red Bull? If they didn’t have Max, they’d be running behind McLaren, TR and Ferrari—going by Perez’s performance. Perez, BTW, who ran better in a year-old Merc last year!
Perez set to start Dutch GP from the back after engine change By: Adam Cooper Sep 4, 2021, 2:12 PM Sergio Perez is set to start the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix from the back of the grid after Red Bull Racing opted to take a new Honda power unit.
I think that the Mercedes is a better car than the Red Bull, look at the disparity between teammates in terms of outright speed? Hamilton and Bottas are reasonably close, Max often has the better part of a second over his teammate. Max in a Mercedes would spank Lewis.
Or maybe RB are terrible at building a car that suits both drivers and Perez is massively underperforming?
Or RBR is excellent at building a race winning car for Max? Unlike Bottas, Perez has a win this season.
