Learned something new today. Column 1 - Chassis Column 2 - Engine Management Column 3- Airbag Have no idea what the rest reads. Since my October 94 build has a “PR” chassis code, I’m going to assume the U.S was never designated any PA cars, which are pre-airbag. Interesting to see Spiders built starting May 1995. 1994/12 build date here I wonder what the airbag differences are for dates 1994/11 - 1995/04 vs after?
I got it. Thanks to google image translation from Japanese to English. For the 3rd column going down, 1st says “None”, 2nd says “Driver Seat” and 3rd says “Dual”.
Does “driver’s seat” mean airbag on steering wheel, but not passenger side? Meaning passenger is still a storage compartment?
“Driving Seat” is all it says. I guess there are unicorns out there with single airbag and passenger glove boxes that were apparently built for 6 months? Image Unavailable, Please Login
My Berlinetta is a July 1994 build date, PR which contradicts this chart. Also there are Spiders listed in the F355 Registry with 1994 build dates, interestingly the first Spider in the registry is the next F355 after mine, so I may have the last of the initial run of GTSs/Berlinettas before the Spider entered production.
Thanks, super useful. Confirmed mine's a PA (non airbag). Not sure of the actual build date but will check/verify.
My nero 355 has a July 1994 build date. I don’t believe U.S got any “PA” cars. I’ve also never seen any Spiders with pre-airbag steering wheels.
It appears my assumption of Dec. 1998 being the last date of 355 production is wrong. This must be for Japan only. Here’s a June 1999 Spider build date. https://www.kipshewardmotorsports.com/details-1999-ferrari-355_spider_f1-only_5_104_miles_f1_trans_only_1_053_produced_convertible_-used-zffxr48axx0116536.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
