Ok I've got it now. Toto said they were racing max not Lando so when max came in for inters they brought Lewis in. That was a smart move. Had Lewis stayed out to race Lando, max would have won.

 

Makes sense, I've never credited the Merc crew to be any smarter than Ferrari .... poor old Lando, should have listened to the team although after they ****ed up Dan's stop you would have to wonder

I thought it was a good race, I really feel for Lando it was his deserved race to win, but ultimately he made the call to stay out & obviously Lewis even though he stayed out one lap longer than he was told to, as Peter says above the strategists would have insisted he was racing Max for the championship not Lando & Max had changed to inters & must covered off. Max drove a great race & couldn't believe his luck at the end I'm sure. Daniel also had a good race even with a slightly slow pit stop.

Great last few laps that's for sure.

Was a lot of fun watching this race. Excellent result for Ferrari also.
