My June & August purchases. Admittedly I'm very selective and cautious about books I order/buy these days. I am very happy with all three and highly recommend them.

Very nice. The Figoni book is very sticky. I remember the big Ferrari 250LM and 250 Sperimentale books had problems sticking badly. I hope this one does not. I wish they would go away from this style of printing.

To be honest with all the high end Ferrari books being released over the past year or so I think it's nice to have a book released just for its information contained within.

I look over my collection and many of my favourites today were just standard books, not very expensive at the time (although some have since become rare and priced accordingly) not investment pieces, just great books on a subject I loved that anyone else at the time could afford to buy and enjoy too.

Absolutely agree. The best example in my view is the AutoHistory Series by Osprey from the 1980s. These little books provide a splendid introduction in the respective cars they deal with and at the same time they give an overview of the main company milestones which led to the development of these cars.

I have numerous editions of this series about very different cars from very different makes and each is a pleasure to read and provides the essential information you need. Of course, the 250 GTO book by David Clarke for example does not give an overview like the Porter Press book or GTO/64. But it opens the door to the Ferrari journey in a very instructive and well-written way.

As a young man, I read chapter 7, "One Careful Driver" so much that the pages became transparent. I'm fairly sure that was my first 'proper' Ferrari book. Still have it :)

Yes Sven, those are a great, still relatively inexpensive series of books.

For those that don't know them here are some examples...

Wonderful! And, of course, we have to mention the Collector's Guide series from the 1980s, which produced a series of instructive, well-written books which serve as reference books up to today (at least for me).

Very nice. And you don't have to break the bank to acquire them.

Is the "Ferrari" book (with publisher name E.P.A. at the bottom) the Berlinetta Boxer book by Mel Nichols and Serge Bellu? I cannot see the names of the authors, unlike on my copy.
If yes, that would give me an idea of the size of the Osprey books, with which I'm not familiar.

Yes, it's the book by Nichols and Bellu, which in its 1983 (second) edition is an updated (French language) version of Nichols' original work for Osprey. In my view, it's the best BB book published yet.

The books of this series are 19x22 cm in size.

Although this is a Ferrari channel, I would like to give some information, because I know that some readers are also Aston Martin followers: I have just been told in an email by the publisher that VANTAGE magazine has been axed and that the autumn issue is the last!

This is bad news as VANTAGE (in my view) ranges amoung the top 3 car magazines internationally: well written, great images, good mix of content and lavishly produced. OCTANE magazine will deal with Aston Martin topics in the future, I have been told.

Yes, that one. May I have a picture? I forgot to take a good picture of that book when it was showed at Modena Motor Valley fest this summer.

    Thank you very much

Happily, my supply problem regarding the slipcased edition of XKD 603 has been solved by ... guess whom ... yes: Andy Massen from Cotswold Road & Race!

I just visited the Porter Press website and saw to my total surprise that the 250 GTE book by David Wheeler is available again! They seem to have had "last few copies" (quote) in the cupboard. Price is 200 GBP.

That's weird. Been sold out for months. Maybe unsold retail returns, reprinted damaged copies or just found an unopened box somewhere.

Bit cheeky for the publisher to now double the original asking price. I mean I'd expect that from a Hortons or similar but not from them.
