Any more pics?
Apparently, the 2023 Z06 will begin production in July 2022. 20% of BG production will be Z06's. That all said, it is highly unlikely you'll see many by end of '22. Some dealers are no longer taking waitlists.
Z06 with paint -- being filmed for GM promo. Looks like Red Mist with all tan interior. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've said this for quite a while now. They are jammed up with Stingray orders. It makes no sense to stretch those orders out for Z06's. The Z06 is needed to keep full production at Bowling Green going as C8 orders start to decline in 2023.
My dealer told me they’ve sold 32 new C8s and they’ll only be getting 1 maybe 2 Z06s. I’ll be getting the only 1 if there’s 1. The demand for this car will be off the charts.
I wonder what kind of premiums people will be willing to pay to skip the line in order to get one of the early cars?
Same as the C8 sitting in my garage. Will probably change it up though with the Z06, probably Orange over black and tan.
Convertible render. Looks pretty good. A bit more aggressive than the Stingray Image Unavailable, Please Login
We are #10 for the Z06 at a large dealer in Dallas, but still figure it will be late 2022- mid 2023 until it appears.
The looks are growing on me. I see out the door prices for 3ZR 3LT cars to be 160+ for the first couple of weeks.
One unethical dealer called me the other day, said to get on Z06 list, 5K non refundable deposit, and 20K over MSRP. Said his GM makes the rules. You can’t argue with stupid without getting down to their level. In 2020; I was in queue for one of the first Z06’s with a top NJ dealer at MSRP. Now, somehow lost my records with the dealer name change. No longer returning calls, nor emails. Lots of horse-trading and worse will be go on. I have a bunch of respect for Mike F as he doesn’t play games. He’s amongst the few with a solid reputation.
Yah that family owned dealership changed hands being sold to a "bigger" dealer network. My guess is they aren't going to do business the same way no matter what they say. Kill the golden goose!
Yep. I am destined to wait. Hate playing car games. When I buy at my dealer it’s a few minutes on the phone, come in and sign papers then a twenty minute bs session because I like the guy. My actual time buying is no more than 10 minutes. I am spoiled. So I wait. Que sera sera.
If you are referring to Ciocca (was Kerbeck in 2020), you got bad info. Kerbeck has NEVER started a list or taken a deposit on any Corvette until the car is officially announced and the MSRP is KNOWN. There is NO Z06 "list" or "queue" at Ciocca and there won't be one until at least October 27th (assuming the MSRP is revealed on the 26th).
Chevrolet is a volume SALES company, not a NON-sales company. I am sure the overwhelming demand for the C8, the strike and then Covid problems are/were just as frustrating for them as it is for the customers. I waited 19 MONTHS for my C8 HTC. If they (GM) could make it go faster, they would. They're NOT Ferrari...nor do they have any desire to play Ferrari games. If everything was normal the first 2 years of C8 production (2020 and 2021) about 40,000 - 45,000 cars would have been produced in MY 2020 with just about 8,000 - 10,000 cars being moved to 2021. Instead 20,000++ cars were moved to 2021 production (I should have gotten a 2020...in the end, I' m glad I didn't have a choice on that as I got Silver Flare, which was a new color for 2021)
Correct. It was a miscommunication / received bad initial info. Was able to speak with them today and what you stated is the Z06 process.
I think it's going to be more than "the first couple of weeks"....more like "the first couple of YEARS" USED C8 Stingrays are STILL trading well above MSRP and we're in the 3rd model year.
I think the C8 might be the first Corvette to have some reasonable sales internationally. As interest in the US slows, the extra capacity will move overseas. As long as GM keeps Bowling Green running at or near full capacity there's no point in incentives either directly from GM or from local dealers eager to move iron off the lots. Long shot is -- I think the C8 will take a different pricing path than previous generations have had. And its in GM's best interest that the C8 not be seen going through massive depreciation for current sales (including speculators) and future models at higher price levels.
Some early exterior nuances between Stingray and the Z06. Apparently, the Z06 is ~ 3" wider (79 inches) than the Stingray. That's even ~ 2" wider than a Speciale. And the Z06 is ~ 6" wider than a 2022 GT3, which is "only" 73" with mirrors detracted.
