I’m told that the vin is predictive and can change. Not sure I’ve seen but a very knowledgeable person told me that the VIN comes from FNA not the factory. Here is a process printout to show what the dealer gets. From an earlier post by another member. I expect the order books were closed as the subsequent manufacturing time would predict that the run will be full until conversion to the next one. It also teaches people to get their order in early promoting a sellout of 296 and future models. Marcel said SF90 closing in December. I have an Atelier appt in November for a car I’ve put a deposit on and not in the app yet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Deposit placed 10/15 and was told "Ferrari accepted my order" for whatever that means. MyFerrari app shows "Waiting List", but just recently showed my configuration with all my specs.
Gave my deposit on F8 Spider on September 27th. Received a call from dealer that my car was moved to P (Approved by dealer) and sent to Ferrari on October 7th. Dealer said 99% I would receive my car in 12 to 18 months. He also said, he has seen orders cancel in P based on production. (so No guarantees) A lot depends on dealer allocation of cars. Some dealers were 250% of allocated vehicles.
which unfortunately reinforces what I stated previously; a lot of potential buyers are going to receive deposit refund checks. Nice if Ferrari would offer those effected an early allocation on a 296, which for some might be a beneficial outcome.
Just be careful as the timing is different between dealers and their allocations. For example, the time between deposit and 10R for my order was about 11 months.
On Sept 30th ... consider the process in Italy is faster since the same day the order was approved by dealer and sent to Ferrari HQ.
Thank you for the info. Will take it into account. Working with one of the largest Ferrari dealers in NA. Hopefully see my car in 10R in the new year.
Depends on what you consider the "new year". If you mean, during the new year of 2022, its likely to arrive around April if its a coupe. If its a spider... well who knows?
Spider. I am hoping to be "00" in January - March 2022. Looking at delivery the end of 2022. If I understand correctly, "00" means you are getting a car. Right now in "P", I am told it is 90% but no guarantee. Nervous as I really don't like the 296.
Could not agree more. MY first Ferrari with them. But Three Maserati's before (Levante and GranTurismo).
Had my deposit in and W status since June at Palm Beach also New Country for a F8 Spider. My dealer assures me that the internal status P means nothing and that all orders put into Ferrari will be made if put in before the cut off. Hope he isn’t wrong. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
SA told me similar. But said when Ferrari stops making F8's they are done regardless of order status. He has seen cancelations in very late stages. Ferrari typically offers to roll the order into next model 296.
Here in the UK, the order books for the 812 SF, 812 GTS, F8 Tributo and F8 Spider have all been closed, often at short notice. I even heard a rumour the SF90 Stradale may be discontinued having served its purpose as a development workhorse for the 296 GTB. So the future looks like hybridised versions of the Portofino and Roma, the 296 GTB and Spider, possibly a hybridised smaller V12 plus of course the Puresangue.
There’s more models coming. Cancellations common at the end and dealers often quietly offer spots. Many see the new “ better” model and anticipate high depreciation with the market saturated and new cars coming and walk away from orders. Tell the dealer you’re really committed I suspect you’ll get what you want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So no longer F8 Tributo order-able? I was going to go to Newport Beach and see if I could place deposit on a car.
