Currently, Lewis starts on the back of the grid for the sprint race. Lewis still has a 5 place grid drop tomorrow.
That is true. And, don't forget Hammy's measly 10 second penalty in Britain where he went on to win while Max was punted off by him.
you’re saying that they’re lying about the part passing previous tests. I wasn’t understanding that. if they wanted Merc to win, though, shouldn’t they have left the floor dimensions unchanged from last season? That would have been the easier way to help Mercedes continue to win
A. There very well could be a crude system in place that has slipped passed the tests as has been suggested. B. Obviously power is in play and the new champ is being put into place. Merc were taken down a peg and RB caught up. This is obvious. Yes, Merc have been allowed to do as they please for years. Caught on multiple occasions.
Well, this is the turning of the tide and Max will win the championship. As stated in previous post the handwriting is on the wall.
While I’m hoping max wins the championship, a DNF changes a lot. Max is still only on his 4th engine. While it’s looking good for him, it’s far from over.
Yes, I think random misfortune will the the only thing that could derail RB from winning the championship at this point.
Not cheating at all. Looks like a part was damaged. The wing tested ok before Lewis went out in qualy.
Nobody knew that the floor mod would affect one concept more than the other. To think otherwise is a fallacy. It was an expedient, easy to apply solution to all cars to get a sizeable reduction in DF that Pirelli were asking for. Even Merc didn’t expect that it would be such a big deal or they would not have agreed the changes. I posted where they admit they underestimated the effort to claw back the DF—probably due to the fact they thought they still had plenty of margin on the Red Bulls.
so basically you’re saying there are behind-the-scenes shenanigans and influences that affect Formula 1? I concur. This is no longer the racing series that existed pre-Bernie. It’s entertainment…has a growing global audience. The Netflix series….that’s what modern F1 really is. Respect to Max for saying “hell-to-the-no” for refusing to participate. Of course we know, it’s only a matter of time before he’s recast from burgeoning champ to new demon. That’s what the modern audience wants. It’s why so many longtime F1 section folks have gone. I still like to watch, but I know what I’m watching.
Right result all around but there is no reason why it took so long other than they couldn’t find an excuse to protect MB. Writing was on the wall with the Seb penalty and logically they couldn’t give MB anything less, therefore it shouldn’t have taken as long as it did.
This is and has been the case in all sports for all time. NFL NBA NHL Boxing F1 EU football ALL a sports. badminton table tennis stamp collecting. Etc. Etc.
