That's totally unfair. It's not easy to win in F1 and Ferrari has had long winningless championship streaks in the past! For example between 1984 and 1998 (15 years) and 1965-1974 (10 years, in the supposed "golden era", the real golden era was between 1999-2004). Selling is important to Ferrari but so is winning! Anyone who thinks differently is just not familiar with the history of motorsport. Look at McLaren for example; their last WCC was in 1998 and Williams's was in 1997. Not to mention that Ferrari won the WEC Championships this year. And yet current Ferraris are the best ever!
Powerful NA V12, light carbon monocoque, no hybrid at all, beautiful design. Three stars Michelin menu i guess
Time is ticking. Let's see if people will follow the rules and not post any photos before the public launch.
So you claim that long periods of failure are part of the brand's history? Correct. But I wish that this will never become their DNA! The rules in F1 are the same for every company. So everything else is an excuse. There is probably a lack of people in the racing team who can clearly address things, change them and only then enable success again. And Managing Directors without racing DNA (like the last and new CEO) won´t really help in this case, sorry! Niki Lauda would have been such a guy... “You can't say that ... it's Ferrari“ doesn't helps there. But maybe the new Icona car will make me feel a bit better tonight...
The same Lauda who did nothing as Ferrari “consultant” in 1993 and got fired from his team principle role at Jaguar F1?
This. Or the fable that makes us believe that he and Hamilton are the main ones responsible for the success of Mercedes since 2014..
Jacques Just look into the other thread in the same section. Tons of information and opinions there. Marcel Massini
