Hi all, i have a little crack on one of the front indicators that’s bugging me, but not enough to replace the whole thing which costs a lot. Is there any product or method to repair the crack ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
How about a refurbished lens? Still a little expensive, but... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f355-refurbished-clear-turn-signals-399.628447/#post-147428775 I don't know if those windscreen chip repair kits would be suitable. They sometimes help hide the cracks in glass and stop the crack from spreading.
Can you repair this the same way as they repair small cracks in the windshields? anyone tried? i repaired the spider crack in my BMW windshield and i can't see any crack there anymore...
I’ve used very thin cyanoacralite (super-glue). It comes in different viscosities, the thin stuff is like water. Try to hit from both sides if possible, just a little bit. Will leech into the cracks nicely. This was on an NSX to be clear.
Thanks , do you recall the viscosity and brand of the one you used ? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
No, but any of the clear extra-thin super glues available online or at any hobby store will do. Start with just a little bit at a time, its easy to add but can’t really take away neatly.
Probably best to go preventative. I had mine PPF’d. Hope it works Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That’s my plan, I only bought the car few days ago which the crack was there. Waiting to get the clear film to apply. Just wanted to know if there is a way to reduce the crack or only have to replace it Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
If you want it gone buy new lenses and double ppf them. Welcome to F355 ownership btw! These are the best road cars ever made from a fun standpoint.
There is probably a better repair solution than super glue, maybe some sort of ultra clear epoxy resin that someone here is familiar with?
lol, wait until you scrape the bumper for the first time, you'll have a hernia!! I thought it was all over when I scraped mine the first time... I would just get that stuff from Repco as Neil said and be done with it...
You can attempt a repair but the resin should have the same index of refraction as the lens in order for the crack to be unnoticeable. Safelite might be able to help you with this. Afterward, have the lenses clear-filmed as you've planned. Congratulations and enjoy your F355 with the understanding that it's bound to get a bit marred with use. In comparison, my F355 Challenge is always getting things thrown up at it on the track.... That’s didn’t make a difference at all sadly . So only option would be to replace it Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have the front spoiler in the paint shop for restoration, took some real beats as i have lowered the car. I will get some Sliplo scrape guards this time.
Why did you lower the car? Just run factory height, its how it was designed to optimize the suspension setup.... My 348 was lowered when I got it, but I returned it to factory height and found it was a much more compliant ride, felt a lot better. Also to consider, sliplo is good, but it will effectively bring the bottom of the spoiler closer to the ground, which is why I don't run that on my car. At the factory height, and once you get used to the car, which does take a while, you wont catch the spoiler much at all....I haven't scraped mine for a long time...
Mine were not cracked but I put tinted film on them. That should hide the crack. Image Unavailable, Please Login
