Thank you Terry, I am my daughter's biggest fan... Still waiting for my Dino painting Regards, Alberto
Hola Alberto, Amazing! Your young daughter has a very special talent that rivals those of professionals. Kudos to her. Has she taken art lessons or is this through her natural God-given talent? Looks like the 599 is being painted with water color and it's not as easy to paint with it as it may seem. With water color, mistakes cannot be covered by using more of the color as can be accomplished with other media. Honestly, water color was a medium I was not very successful in though I was decent with pastel abstract/cubist paintings, oil painting, charcoal drawings, and even very fine tipped ballpoint pen to draw portraits. Felicidades, Señor.
Hola Jose', Thank you so much for the very kind words! She has a natural, God given talent, which she increased many-fold at Lesley College in Boston. She has always been painting lots of incredibly painstakingly and achingly detailed art, but alas, not much success. The car bit is mostly a fluke, due to the paintings she gave me as presents. Of course, I posted them, as I am extremely proud of her work. Now, she's busy busy, and every car is incredible in its own form. After the 599 she's painting a 300SL Gullwing, never restored, original paint and rust, incredible patina. It will be a challenge. She does a mix of watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil. Not all at once, but depending on the piece. Did you see her Cali Spider? That one is a huge 3' x 5'. If you wish to see more of her work, without me getting into trouble with the authorities, please search: "Your car painted by my daughter", and you will see some of her work. Muchas gracias de nuevo, and thank you all for the likes and comments. Arianna is extremely happy... Alberto PS. Are you of Basque descent? We are
Hola Alberto, Que tal, mi buen amigo? Su hija ea maravilloso. At first back in the 80's, we thought our family heritage was Basque because of our family name ending in "dy"'. However much later before the DNA profiles became a popular method to determine heritage, a close relative from my father's side had a researcher study our bloodline and found out our great-grandparents were from Sevilla, España. Regardless, I still love wearing my wool berets during winter! Later, I also learned that my paternal grandmother had Asian Indian blood yet she and my father spoke fluent Spanish at home. On my mother's side, I have Chinese ancestry, but mostly Filipino. So I'm essentially a "mongrel" and that's probably why "my nose is always cold" (old joke)!
Hola Alberto, Feliz dia de acción de gracias. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. We who live in America have a lot of thanks to give to the Almighty God for our beautiful country and the freedoms we cherish, regardless of the societal problems that are happening, and especially for the families and friends we love. Josè
Gracias Josè! You are lucky to live In America (USA), while we live in nutty country, where albeit it is great, we also have tons of problems as they are common to the 3rd world. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Saludos, Alberto
100% approval! I’m SOOOO excited for this commission. I love Alberto’s daughters work and can’t wait to see this one in person. As soon as it’s finished, I’ll post the pic that we chose for the reference. Want I can comment on is the reflections in the hood that she’s captured and the color variation due to the sun…..INCREDIBLE! Jim
Well Jim, now that Arianna and I are on Holidays together in Cali., and unlike back home, where she has her own studio, here it is a different layout as she works on the dining room table, so I get to see little tidbits every day, and the trick is for me to find them. You cannot believe it, one tire, then the next, a little detail here and there...so cool to see the development, it is almost anticlimactic, when a feature is finished, then another... Then, it will go away Thank you for your approval! You are going to Love it! Kind regards, Alberto
Alberto- Beautiful. She has real talent and a great eye. Jim- Hope you have someplace good to hang it that will not chap off the other half.
I was stunned when Alberto's Daughter sent me the finished picture last night. It's stunning and I cannot wait to see the actual painting. Here is the reference photo that we used. The level of detail should be apparent…. Image Unavailable, Please Login
