I think they are functionally part of an s-duct type setup

Great, I hadn't seen that before! Although it's obvious. I don't understand either... this car is far more of a Ferrari 250 P5 than a Ferrari 330 P4.

Not that I know of. Only the red car was a working prototype, the white car is non-functional. I also doubt the red car is fully sorted and ready to be tested

Wow…the Monza was listed at 1.7 mil…why would this one be 3 mil?

Has this been mentioned somewhere? I'm curious to see under the hood.

Ferrari probably aIso wanted to enlarge the boot space which is really marginal in LaFerrari:
    Image Unavailable, Please Login

The boot lid is now wider and the central section of the lid is not so low anymore.
But have they also removed/relocated the fans? At least the central air exit is replaced with side exits, so this might benefit the boot.

It is not 3 mil. More expensive than the Monza but not that much

Agreed the hexagonal shape of the front is perhaps too close to other marques. And the front mesh treatment has a lot going on. But in the real world these things can read differently than how they come off in static photos. And Ferrari should try new things, not always recycle the comfortable past.

It is great to see a mid-engine V12 only Ferrari. Wasn't sure if we'd ever see that again.

Agreed. For years this community was asking for a LaFerrari sans batteries and electric motors and now we have it. I would have loved a regular production rear mid engine V12 but good to see this nonetheless

This pic made me realize how similarly the front end is designed with the rear end. Just imagine how the nose would look if front strakes would continue all the way from side to side. In fact, it almost looks like they do, but the mesh is just hiding them.

Honestly, i have no problem with LaFerrari sans batteries and electric motors ... but that's not quite what's been offered.

    Given this choice:

    1. LaFerrari as-is, with extra hp (and weight) from hybrid batteries and motors.
    2. LaFerrari without hybrid batteries and motors ... but about the same weight as option #1.

How many would pick option #2?

LaFerrari was about ultimate performance ... but, by Ferrari's own admission, the Daytona SP3 is not.

I know, I know ... i keep posting negative stuffs about this car.

For what it's worth, here's a few cars that i consider to be drop-dead gorgeous ... cars with timeless beauty, in my eyes:

    Talbot Lago T150
    Ferrari 330 P4
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione (yep, the new-ish one)
    De Tomaso P72

(yes, "curves" age much, MUCH more gracefully than "edges" and "creases", as i see it ... and my eyes are infinitely more attracted to flowing lines around a cohesive theme)

Of course many will not agree! But, fwiw, perhaps it's easy to understand why i'm so disappointed in this new Icona :( (again ... some love Picasso, some love Botticelli ... room for all)

And now, a favor ... for anyone who cares to indulge me: to those who absolutely LOVE this new Icona, can you please post a short list of other cars that you find attractive? Not to criticize anyone's tastes, but just to understand where you're coming from :)

Perhaps it’s just me, but every time I see a photo of the SP3 around other Ferraris, the other Ferraris outshine it.

I think the SP3 more than holds its own. Wish I was in line to get one.

Lets see what we all think once we've seen it in person and had more time to digest it. We all have our opinions, but don't forget, all the other cars we are discussing, we very likely are more familiar with. I'll be curious to come back to this in a year, two years, three years, and see if opinions have changed or remained the same.

Happy to. I love this car, the Monza (one of the most gorgeous), the Carrera GT, the F40, F50, and my favourite, the 250 Testa Rossa. I appreciate bold designs that break the norm. This, to me, is one of those. However, I also recognize that to buck the trend means there must be a trend to buck. That trend won’t always be happy.
