I am using ccm pads on steel discs ( converted 290mm front and 250mm rest)
I think nobody ever tried it. But I did. Working better than I thought.

G***disc Front Magic Pads for Ferrari 360 & F430 $150. / axle. no squeals and minimal if any dust. Street use mainly but did track it once with these no problem. Probably as many great pads out there as there are manufacturers I chose these because I also bought their matching rotors for all 4 wheels, there street pads, steel brake lines from stoptech, and Motul 600 brake fluid. My use is primarily street, and I'm very happy. I did a careful break in/bonding conditioning when installed and have been very happy. There are probably others out there that are just as good, I just have no way of comparing them and it seemed to me the best way to go was to just get a complete set from this particular manufacturer. The Brembo's that were on it and the 3 mm pads were unsuitable for turning, no one turns brake rotors anymore and they were pretty well worn thin beyond minimum requirements. Good luck with your choices.

EBC Red Stuff pads on my 360. Squeal is same as stock pads … i.e., very little. Biggest difference for me is far less dust than stock. And of course much cheaper.

Not sure what car you're doing this on but I would not use CCB pads on steel rotors. CCB pads are adhesive type and will not brake nearly as well as traditional abrasive pads on steel rotors. The CCB material has a much higher coefficient of friction than cast iron, so requires totally different pad material.

I agree, but what's about carbon clutch pads then?

I've got EBC reds to go in. Was told (and as above) no squeal and a modest upgrade from stock. I put race pads in another car and the difference on track was incredible. But on the street when cold they did not work well and the rotors wore faster than the pads.

Another vote for EBC Red Stuff. I've put them on all my cars (430, R8, M4, wife's X5). None have squeaked. Much less dust.
