Perspective Pap It was always going to happen. We’re lucky the dominant strain this time is Omicron. More contagious but less virulent (worked that out yet new troll?), hence the number of ventilated patients is not increasing at the same rate compared to delta. As I’ve said all along, get a booster, be smart about going into crowded areas, practice good hygiene and get a proper mask to wear. And as ScoMo said yesterday, get ready to ride the wave Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've worked out "pretty easy really" that the roughly 10% unvaxed population corresponds with the equivalent percentage that vote for Hanson, Palmer and the like. In other words all the dumb Clints!!!
From what I can see the predictions of 200,000 cases by early January look to be not far off the mark since testing can't keep up with the demand. The numbers are possibly 3 to 4 times what are being officially put out!!
Yep. I have no doubt. That makes it even less serious than the numbers would suggest, because if you're sick enough, you're going to make your way to hospital. So, the hospital numbers are (fairly) obviously correct, but the case numbers are definitely wrong.
PM giving a press conference right now. I can’t believe he is bothering talking about him. Better off saying nothing and showing no interest
Yep. I know this sounds a bit weird but I think Omicron might be a blessing in disguise. Lets face it I think we are all going to get this at some stage, but it does seem less deadly than other variants and is more contagious. So my rationale is we get it quickly and we're all done and then have more immunity to it. It is getting close to home though, we believe our next door neighbours have Covid. They don't talk to anyone but we've seen many, many meals being delivered which is unusual, and yesterday their son dropped bread to the front door and left, whilst they were home at the time!!
@greg246 We got off on the wrong foot. I went back and read many of your past posts, and I found I shared a lot of your opinions. Specifically, we share joint support for vaccines. That's been the crux of my argument. Where things got off the rails comes down to the word virulent. I was disputing an assertion that every subsequent variant of Alpha will be less contagious and harmful as a matter of rule. To you, I understand it only would apply to harm since you're entrenched in the Medical community. Fair enough. A peace offering: I'm wrong in the context of a hospital setting to use virulence and transmissibility interchangeably. In the spirit of reciprocity, do you acknowledge that, as defined in the four significant dictionaries, virulent outside that community applies to both elements? Or say in optimal virulence? Suppose you disagree and think me daft, no problem. At the very least, I hope I have explained my logic. *** As I said, I believe we have the same views on vaccines, so that steed is six feet in the ground. Back to Delta/Alpha My contention is with two groups of unvaccinated folks - that Delta is more virulent and contagious than Alpha; please do not take me as presumptuous in that I believe you disagree? Please, do correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you and all the community for the fight against this scourge, and I sincerely wish you the kindest regards.
I don't normally get the sniffles so I might be right then. Cheers mate, I am all over avoiding crowded areas (that is NO problem here lol) and I have always practiced good hygiene since forever and we always make sure our kids do also. +1 That's what I would have done also, WTF would he even bring it up? Obviously the PM has nothing better to do eh? Sc-homo should have just left it to the media and the public to attack Novak.
I had Dave (mod) voted off our island but we're mates now ........ but I still call him CLINT behind his back Sorry Dave, I love ya
Hey! Leave my thread alone! I know it's a bit bumpy right now, but it'll be back on the bitumen in no time!
Oh FFS, Mr Wishy Washy is at it again ............. just call Greg Dr Google and be done with it ...... NOCWYT
