Am I imagining things, or did the name of this forum change recently? If so, I wonder why.....
That's something that i really don't know. So much has changed in the last several years that it is hard to keep up with. All I know is that this forum is unique and a pure pleasure for me. I learn a great deal from it and enjoy the personalities and knowledge that lies within. There is nothing else like it and I look forward to it every day. Most of my old flying friends are now gone and the flying museums at Paine Field are gone so it is the AvChat gang that keeps things alive for me at least. I'll be 96 soon and I have to continue to clear out all my art stuff so if any of you have a particular interest in anything please mention it. I guess I should post a list.
Bob im not really into aviation but i do checkin here to enjoy your stories. you have a wealth of knowledge.
Thanks. I don't think that it is more than any other participant here. I have been around a long time and saw a lot of stuff and tried a few things. I'm still learning things every day.
Thank you Rob; it was always so confusing before...."AviatorChat".....is that, like, someplace to chat about aviators?
More confusing than "FerrariChat", "LamborghiniChat" or "McLarenChat"? I don't see the difference. A more appropriate change, as some have suggested, would be to "AviationChat", as some of us are not actually aviators.
Frankly, Scarlett...... But you non-aviators are welcome as long as you own one aviation related book. Should cover just about everyone. If not, I probably have one I can send you.
AND I, ALSO know of an aviation book that is available...and there is a Scarlet in it, too. It's not quite in the Best Cellar List....yet. But, at least, it hasn't been banned.
Oh, you mean the one that has something about crystal sets in it? Everyone on this forum should have a copy!
A young lady asked me what I meant by "crystal set" and I told her what it was and she said, " You're yanking my chain! There's no such thing!"
When I was growing up, my crystal set was the only way I could listen to Wolf Man Jack from Del Rio, Texas and Amos & Andy (at night, in bed when my folks thought I was asleep). Those were not allowed on the house radio.
I have one of those, autographed . . . somewhere . . . I saw it come in, I put it on a shelf, and it's gone
I have my old man’s OCS yearbook from Jax. There are notes about how this guy died at Midway and that guy someplace else. Does that count? The amazing thing is what a cross section of white guys. Some from Yale, others from Topeka. Different times. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
