    I think termites could be a genuine concern with that car!
    Seriously….who picks wood for a race car? Or at least that much of it.
    I mean….I guess F1 not so long ago put a wooden plank under then cars to meet some reg but still.

    TBH, I have more questions about the plumbing menagerie going on in the (formerly) rear luggage compartment than I do about the use of wood....

    Have you ever seen the homologation spec for the FIA Group 4 308s?

    This is what the dry sump spec and corresponding oil lines look like.

    @sherpa23 Thanks. I'm familiar with dry-sump oil systems, but those are not all oil lines back there. Initially, I was wondering why the pair of coolant pipes (not to mention a third lateral coolant pipe just on the other side of the bulkhead) were routed through there, but I can see now that one of the coolant pipes is plumbed with an oil cooler. Still curious why the two other coolant pipes were plumbed like that however.......

    Totally agree that it's a curious set up but if you aren't familiar with the homologated 308 race set up (although it sounds like you were indeed familiar all along) the whole thing can seem weird and not just the parts you mentioned.

    Nope, never laid eyes on the 308 Gr 4 dry sump set-up…but have been around a few other race cars. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
