Eric, I have two new actuators (for fresh air and air direction). There are no screws at all. Those small black domes in the photos are not round head screws. If there are screws, I suspect someone has been working on them before.
Worth menrioning the one I did was the fresh air recirculation flap not the tambor flap for vent direction if that makes a difference? Just threw my old one out 2 days ago should have kept it for parts. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You can see the screws here on the corners. Mine was identical but it was 28 years old maybe model variants. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yes, The gears inside 63307100 look suspiciously like the gears in the recirc servo. I will dig though my trash and find the recirc servo I chucked I can then send the recirc flap gears to who ever has the 63307100 gears to compare.
Would anybody have part #63307100 available? New or used? Mine has been removed by the previous owner.
Good luck with this. I have been looking and I do not seem to find them. I am working on trying to rebuild mine but I am having some motor issues and others issues (HVAC) that are holding me up.
As a side note / observation. These motors fail in part because the flaps become difficult to move over time. Dried grease, dust, dirt, etc. make the amount of torque required more than the motor can deliver. Sure the brass shaft boss that Daniel sells helps (and recommended), but it is kind of a symptom of the actual problem. When this happens, the motors start digging hard and fail as noted in this thread. What also can happen is the chips on the HVAC ECU overheat and fry. The result is, for some weird reason, the air only operating in 'defrost mode' I have had my HVAC ECU fail a second time now. I just finished cleaning / lubing the flap movement & air deflector points as best I can while the ECU is out being repaired...again.
Great. I'll look all those items over as well. Do you recommend installing the brass shaft even if the original is in good condition?
The OEM plastic shaft may offer some protection for the more expensive components. You don't want the plastic gears in the fresh air/recirc motor actuator to break first. Also replacing the shaft involves pulling apart the rather fragile luggage liner for access. The weight of flapper door is ridiculous (solid metal with heavy rubber coating). I guess that's to stop vibrations, but it must put a horrible strain on the gearing.
Who is repairing your HVAC ECU? I have a feeling mine may not be working. Approximately how much to get it repaired?
Without looking up the part number I assume you are referring to the actuator for the directional flap and not the recirc flap under the bonnet? If so, those broken plastic gears can be 3D printed by a couple of folks on this forum. You can do a search and it will come up. I recently had mine done and is working normally now. As for the amount of force needed to move the flap, after I removed my actuator I rotated the drum and it moved freely. I would recommend checking this to prevent a repaired actuator from being destroyed by a sticking drum. Hope this helps.
Question does anyone know who make the The actuators is it Bosch or any other automobile hvac suppler Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
We've already been down this route (dead end). Definitely not Bosch. That's why we are at the stage of having to reproduce components in 3D. The recirc flap actuator was getting rare, and then a lot of new ones appeared on the market at very reasonable prices, so someone may be reproducing them. Unfortunately, there has been no new directional actuators appearing (except perhaps because someone found some new old stock).
Ok sorry I though maybe the supplier would have a replacement So the only way is to rebuild what you have if there’s none to be found that sucks Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
For rare parts, I set up my eBay account to notify me as soon as they become available. Eventually one will appear if a car is wrecked. You may have to wait months, but eventually one will show up.
Ok that’s for the info and will check out the eBay account Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Does anyone know where to get a replacement for this ventilation part (63307100) or can supply or 3d print the 2 plastic gears that end up failing.
Two questions about timer actuators on the same day. What are the chances? https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/355-hvac-vent-direction.266756/ Also, there's a repair service in Florida https://www.ecudoctors.com/products/ferrari-355-climate-control-a-c-63307100-br-timing-actuator-repair# Also, numerous references in this thread https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148164524/
Thanks for the link Ian. Do you know of anyone in Aus that has used their repair service? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
