The car came with but ran without a front bumper in the 1957 TDF. They also took out the side vents for the 1957 race. Would like to see the car with numbers and 1957 TDF plates someday. The restoration is very nice. The owner might still have the bumpers.

What I have indicates the car was originally used as a "mule" by S F and was tested with an early 250TR engine installed. The car was then acquired by the Shell Oil Co,eather. bought or leased. After a DNF at the Nuerburging 1000 it was entered in the TDF [plate #BO 84716] and Picard crashed it at night during a practice run. Repairs were done at the local garage of a Mr Marchi and the car ran to 2nd OA in the event. Shortly thereafter Trintignant acquired[??] the car from Shell,a rebuild was done at SF, a long nose was added and the plate # BO 84716 remained. Trintignant raced the car successfully in 1958 after which modifications were made to the brakes, gear box and ???.The next ten years are unclear but in 1968 an American Tom Meade living in Rome bought the car. In 1971 Mead sold the car to Fisher who imported the ccr into America[un registered] where in the winter of 1972 it was put into storage by Fisher until 2006. Fisher then gave the car to D&D Classic in Covington Ohio in 2006 in who aparently did a masterful and doccumented restoration including equipment which had been used during WWII. I only have one picture of the restored car which is red with black striping. There is a plate, rivited on, showing the car as 128C-508C, 0733-GT,0733--GT which may or may not be real SF. tongascrew

Maybe you are thinking of #0881GT?? This car has not been seen in public for almost 40 years and just completed its restoration. The history you have seems correct up the 2006 reference.

... and what is the so-called "0805GT" that Pourret mentions in his book (1987 Haynes edition, page 345) at the end of the 0805GT/0619GT paragraph ?
    Cheers.

No, miurasv: both ex-Pierre Noblet's cars, 0619 (said "0805") and 0805 (said "0619") have clear histories (as reported also by Barchetta) and the so called 0805 seen by Pourret in 1970 definitely does not fit in there... Cheers.

I'm obviously missing something that I'd need the book to understand what you're talking about. According to Barchetta, #0815 is a 250 GT Ellena High Roof Coupe: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/detail/0815gt.250gt.boano.htm

Sure you need the book miurasv:
1- You will see nobody added much knowledge since.
2- 0815 has nothing to do here.
Then Ed Niles may have the solution with his post #21.
And we are back on 0733 ... at last.
    Best

You brought 0815 up which must have been a mistake/typo on your part. Your post 37 has been edited and your references to 0815 removed as has my quote of your post in my post 38.

I think he is bringing it to Elkhart Lake again this year, maybe for the Ferrari Club 50th and or Brian Redman historical races.

    Hello all,
a very interesting car. Does anyone have a race report/infos about the 3h Pau race, 1958/04/07?
Mr. Trintignant is mentioned there in the big GT Class with a Ferrari 250 GT.

    best wishes,
    BjörnS

    Hello Miki,
yes, possible. I have only a partially results list (and he ist not listed as a finisher).
But I can't exclude a "DNF" or "DNS but practise" with the information I have.
    Thats why I asked.

    best wishes,
    BjörnS
