308 F.I. plastic lines to injectors - Weak design?

the lengths vary depending on where the the hard line was placed in the bay. the 328 is one of the shortest runs I've seen and the Mondials the longest, by at least twice the length (supply return lines). the frequency valve also uses the 8mm.

 

The kit has 2 meters of 8mm line. That s/b enough to cover all applications, but I don't have a Mondial to measure. If it needs more than 2m, I'll bring out a Mondial specific kit.

While searching for something else, I came across this interesting article abstract by a Volvo engineer & research scientist:

While they were using a high %Ethanol for the research, I suspect it doesn't bode well for long-term use with lower percentages.
