Ha ha! Awesome looking car you have there! Thanks for the pic of mine. I still haven't seen the car yet, but I'm giving Craig a long list of items to work on before shipping up to me. Cheers!

Approximately 10 years ago, I had a '77 GTB, red on tan. Sold for $40 K I thought I did ok on that deal. I'm keeping my GTS until I can't push the clutch in any longer.

I’ve got 18899, close in line with this one. I agree with the no sale. Worth much more than the highest bid.

But here's the thing: if my car's baseline value increases 2x in the next year, that also means I have to double the amount of insurance coverage on the car.

I've never any plan to sell it, but these large increases in value are simply going to make it more expensive for me to continue to own.

Bitcoin: Zero intrinsic value, can’t get you from A to B, still making thousands of new ones per day, ugly (I saw one), never gonna get you laid.

308: Worst case you can get most of your money back parting it out, usually gets you from A to B (with a lot of fun!), they stopped making them decades ago and will never make more, beautiful, many people claim it improves your love life (I’m married so reverse is true for me— spending time or money on my cars doesn’t amuse my wife.)

That was a nice 308 in beautiful shape, but I feel like $142K was high. I am surprised that none of the bidders seemed concerned with the paint runs or badge placement on the rear; to me that sort of thing knocks the value down a bit, especially without documentation. The seller kept saying the paint was original but there's no way the factory paint would have had runs like that. Anyhow, good to see the market is crazy now that I am no longer a buyer!

Hedge funds are buying single family homes so they can park their money in real estate during a potential stagflation. Classic cars next?

There are current funds out there.

And a few post 2010 market run up. Many got taken to the cleaners (I think…)

    That's about
It needs a full major and whatever else they find when they do that, full set of tires, maybe a fresh coat of paint to be presentable.

Not every 308 is going to sell at astronomical prices. It all depends on condition, condition, condition.
