New to the 550 Barchetta owners club

Beautiful! I'm sure you'll love it like I love mine. Sometimes people comment on the "impracticality" of not having a real roof. But there are enough practical cars. The world needs eccentricity, too. Anyway, the few times I've been caught in the rain I've either pulled under an overpass for twenty minutes and chatted with the one or two people who stopped to offer help, drove really fast (if the rain was light), or actually put on the emergency top - it's silly but works and you can take it off as soon as the rain stops.

 

Had my barchetta out today. Weather in Tampa was dry, 75, and sunny. Perfect for an open v12. These are very special cars and we’re fortunate to own and enjoy them.

It's amazing how well a Maranello looks as a drop top.

 

I think they’re both great cars with or without the top… but the barchetta is absolutely exceptional.

Red/Tan is a Ferrari cliche, but looking at your car you can see why it is the standard. I'm guessing you had the paint corrected, but that really pops.

 

Of the three Ferraris I’ve owned, I miss the Maranello the most. Ironically, financially it ate my lunch. I drove mine 20,000 miles. It cost me at least $3 a mile round trip. Why is it that the women who burned you the most are the ones you miss the most?

I saw this on instagram and my heart skipped a beat. Surely one of the best Pininfarina designs.

 

Give the photographer some credit too. Design is truly flawless.

 

889 miles. Cannot be too many of those. The rate of return on that one for not driving her cannot be too good over 21 years.
