Just picked up my Mondial from the shop today and had to share a pic. The original radiator was leaking and, while I wanted it re-cored, I didn't want to lose the factory markings. Took some effort and paint matching, but they did a wonderful job preserving! If you are in the Philly area, I highly recommend the Porsche Specialist in Broomall. Their dirty little secret is that their techs have a ton of experience outside of Porsches. I just love that they share my OCD!

I face the same dilemma. Did they just do touchups, or protect with tape, or...?
I ended up taking the rad out and flushing it with several chemicals, letting it sit over night a few times soaking. Got a bunch of white and reddish gook out, BUT still would like a more thorough cleaning.
    Thanks.

The radiator vendor masked off the area and stripped the rest. We got it back unpainted and then did a few test spots to match up the sheen. Once done, the sharp tape lines were blended with some thinner. You really have to be looking up close to decipher the variation.
