    Fellow F-Chatters. My sister needs L-1 and L 4-5 back surgery. She lives in Parrish but willing to go Tampa, Sarasota of course. She just moved into her new home in the fall, so has no local experience with surgeons. Can any of you recommend, please? Thanks in advance, Keith

    I would not let distance be a factor when selecting a back surgeon.

    Find the best one in the state and go there.

    The quality of surgeons is alarmingly varied.

    I've had L4-5 fusion recently with Dr. Amir Ahmadian with Neuspine Institute and I am a satisfied customer. They have several locations in the Tampa and the Brandon office is probably closest to Parrish.

    I know it's a bit far but Cleveland Clinic Florida would be happy to see your sister virtually or in person. Just make sure to get the latest MRI and any other relevant imaging and reports to the office before the virtual appointment or bring it with you if it is in person.
