Just curious - now in 2022 what is the going rate on a 458 Spider (MY 2015) for oil change, new pollen filter and full vehicle inspection?

I always thought this used to be around $500 to $600 for an oil change. The dealer quoted around $1600. Is this a typical price for these services/items? This is my 1st service outside the included 7-year maintenance.

    Thanks

I just paid $300 parts, $640 labor last week at the dealer.
$1600 sounds like a bi-annual service including brake fluid and spark plugs

I thought so too so reached out earlier to clarify if brake fluid was included or not. Still waiting for reply though

Here is the annual (which is what the OP is referring to) from April 2020 - Labor costs may have gone up a bit since then but not much -

this is helpful. Now waiting to hear which of these two services was quoted and if only annual why it’s now $1650 unless parts and labor skyrocketed this year from supply chain, labor shortage and inflation.

took me for surprise as I always thought Ferrari oil service was a bit egregious at just $600 let alone $1650. 20 year cost of ownership going forward would come to well over $50,000 just for service if you account for future hikes and the dollars invested in just the market index

The service plan is 7 years and the warrantee was 3 years , didn't any of you in the above take out the extended warrantees ?

After the 7 years you can do the Main Power which will warrantee the car and its servicing.

Note your cars are pre feb 2019 so they will always have an oil change.

After my 3 year warranty were up, I extended it 2 more years for around 10K at that time in 2017. However, at least in the USA, extending the warranty did not include service from what I recall, I may be wrong and someone can confirm this but after 7 years you still pay the routine service, at least in USA.

There is a new plan now that also includes service.

I have a 2018. In 2021 I extended full factory warrantee for 2 years . Then I will go power plan for the next 2 years and end 2025 . Which will also be the last free service year .

Then ill go on the new plan which is power and service. This is new and only has been introduced just recently. Main Power

I just had my 2013 458 Italia serviced yesterday; all fluids changed (oil&filter, coolant, brake fluid, gear oil)...a little over $1800 by an independent who was the master mechanic at a Ferrari dealership. Sigh! I can remember the days of the $19.95 JiffyLube oil & filter change specials...

Find yourself a good Independant as I did and your cut your outlay to a little more than 1/3 of what you payed. My service included new drive belt ,oil, oil filter , brake inspec.,brake fluid, brake fluid flush, inspec. of engine filter, cabin filter, gen vehile inspection, top off all fluids. Did not need cabin filter.

The leak was on the main seal between the gearbox and the engine. Leak was on the engine side around the rear crankshaft seal. The rear crankshaft seal and both crush washers were replaced.

The service advisor noted this as "yellow" meaning it was very minor. I never wait for any leak to repair itself.

I found an independent close to me. Master Ferrari mechanic used to work at two Ferrari dealers as lead. Went off on his own. Will use him for next year. I went with Ferrari dealer this year and paid over 2X what he would charge. This service had a recall on it and for historical bookkeeping I wanted that to be recorded as completed by dealer so just had them do service same time. They've taken care of me for a few things in the past so it's my gift back to them. Next year for my full oil, brake fluid, etc service it would be around 3400 at my dealer. Independent will be under $1500 for everything.

Your key word is a "Good" independent mechanic, and I find the factory-trained mechanics better. Sure the independents are cheaper, but they are training on your car. I know of good independent shops (with former factory training) in my neck of the woods and I have used them in the past on my other cars including Porsches and my McLaren. However, they, too make mistakes and have caused other forms of pains besides the one in my wallet.

Thanks for reviewing my costs. I want this forum to know my experience.

    Arrivederci.
