This track favours the Red Bull and they're bringing an update, so I think the pit stops will be the lesser of our problems. Let's hope for some help from lady luck.

I believe Red Bull will be strong here. But Leclerc back at the front again as well! Ferrari will also have a (smaller) upgrade, including slimmer sidepods.

Team Principals to have a further meeting regarding the new TD.

Here's hoping for a LeClerc win. I don't want to see Max run away with the title. Keep it close and entertaining please.

LEC ran the new RW and beam wing planned for Silverstone at Montreal.

They only had one set available and so gave it to LEC for quali (and race, obviously) because if damaged in quali (and needing replacement) would have incurred a grid penalty. Since LEC was starting last in any case they chose to give it to him.

Both Ferrari and Mercedes ran different rear wings at Montreal for both of their drivers.

Very good to know, maybe the reason HAM finished in front of RUS?

Silverstone, all the British drivers really want to win this one, but I still see it as a Ferrari/Red Bull fight. Hopefully no one is forced off at Copse at high speed.

Norris: Silverstone will highlight "big differences" in 2022 F1 cars
Lando Norris believes Silverstone will highlight the “big differences” in the 2022 Formula 1 cars through the high-speed corners at one of the fastest tracks on the calendar.

F1 overhauled its technical regulations for the 2022 season in a bid to make it easier for cars to follow each other and battle wheel-to-wheel, improving the on-track spectacle.

One of the major changes was the return of ground effect, making use of venturi tunnels underneath the chassis to allow the cars to reach higher speeds through fast corners by generating more downforce.

McLaren driver Norris was hopeful the track would show the big step forward made by the new cars and allow for an improved quality of racing in the British Grand Prix.

“Silverstone is always just a great weekend itself, Formula 1 cars around Silverstone are always spectacular,” Norris said.

“I think racing this year has also been generally better. Maybe not so much at, let's say, tracks purely with long straights.

“But tracks where you’ve got these longer corners, such as Silverstone, I think that's where you see the big differences compared to previous years.

“I'm hoping that will stack up and prove to be better racing, more enjoyable.”

The British Grand Prix is set for another sell-out crowd across the race weekend as fans cheer on a trio of British drivers: Norris, and the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Hamilton echoed Norris’s thoughts on Silverstone being an ideal track to show how good the new cars are through the fastest corners, and was optimistic it would result in an exciting race.

“Silverstone is still one of the best circuits, if not the best, in the sense of having all the medium- and high-speed corners, and the high-speed corners are always the most fun to drive,” Hamilton said.

I expect RBR to be closer here in quali and a Max/Leclerc battle for the win with Max probably winning it.

Both teams bringing upgrades, though RBR not as big as expected apparently.

Forecast is for 20 Celsius but no rain, just warm enough to be comfortable but cold enough for high speeds, could be very revealing of who is doing the best job with whatever kit, upgrades they bring. If any track is suited to these huge, heavy, but very fast cars this is the one.

seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. Between Ferrari’s bad luck and the red bull top speed the seaon is basically over.

A RedBull RB7 and a vintage MKII or MKIII Spitfire. The best of era's gone by.

I wouldn't say that. I thought the season was over after race 3 and Ferrari had it in the bag. The season is long, many things can happen. Remember Silverstone '99? I love Max and don't wish him (or any other driver) harm, but injuries/Covid could sideline any driver and change the game. It ain't over until the mathematical exclusion of all other possibilities.

I will forever hate Eddie Jordan for introducing the summer break: We have all these back to back weekends with races and then basically nothing for 4 weeks in August? Stupid.
