Met fan too but do ya notice the games are still going too long. I have not the patience and can't get into it.
There was big to-do a while back about the pace of games picking up due to the rule changes. Haven't heard much about it more recently...T
Tom C's Mets are playing great baseball, Bob. Who ever has broadcast rights to WS this year prays you are right.
Yes, but note that now that Mets are West Coast and no longer feasting on the dismal teams in their division, the runs and wins have dried up...T

Not only are the Yankees' bats working well, but lately the starting pitchers have been lights out! Two perfect games made it into the 7th inning, and in their last 5 wins, they've given up a total of 3 runs! I know they're playing weak teams, but that's still impressive.
I can't recall who said it, but it was something to the effect that good teams beat who they're supposed to and play 0.500 against the good teams...T
If you hadn't noticed, the Atlanta Braves finally made it up to .500, and that was a month earlier than they did it a year ago, and we all know how last year ended up! Don't count out the Braves!
I have close friends who are Phillies fans. I know they are suffering as well. We'll see if the managerial change makes a difference. At least they'll always have the Phanatic!
Mark Appel called up by the Phillies. I really hope he makes it as a reliever. We had such lofty wishes for him to make it as a starter. He has recently done very well in the minors as a reliever. Phil's called him up. Fingers crossed Mark Appel makes it in MLB. Appel was originally drafted by the Pirates as a first round pick and did not reach an agreement with Pitt. Mark returned to Stanford and was drafted 1.1, in the 2013 MLB draft as a senior. Years ago Appel was a throw-in with a multi-player Astros-Phillies trade. Appel has not thrown a single pitch, in MLB. He retired for a while. Everyone needs to get on board for a good come-back story.

https://www.mlb.com/news/luis-garcia-leads-astros-to-win-over-yankees 7-2 Would be nice to pick up a rental bat at the deadline if it does not cost too much in a trade. Josh Bell stand in the mirror. Another luxurious aquisition would be a shut-down left handed BTR pitcher.
Grew up in the shadows of Chavez Ravine. Remember walking to Dodger Stadium with group of school friends all 12 - 14. Dad would give me $5 to go watch the game Sundays. We almost always never missed the gift events: caps, mini baseball bats, baseballs, batting gloves, etc. $5 bucks in 1979/80 paid for: $1 child bleacher seat ticket (we sat in left field) $0.75 Dodger Dog $0.50 Pepsi $0.50 2 bags of peanuts I kept the change for the drugstore candy later in the week. Been 12+ years since I watched a game there. In LA this weekend for niece’s baby shower. Took my godson last night. Good times. Fond memories. But holy ****! $50 for a fitted baseball cap $17.99 for a beer $7.99 for a Dodger Dog $6.99 for fries $6.99 for a pretzel Glad I can afford it… YOLO. Keep the memories. You can’t take it with you. OT last night; my Homies won. Fireworks night to boot. Great night. Forever Dodger Blue. Last photo with Lasorda from 6th Grade when he visited our elementary down the road to announce the Dodgers adopting our school.
