    Hi!
I decided to replace my accumulator ball since I replaced the f1 pump motor and still seems to be taking too long to prime and seems to run too often. I did a bunch of research and pretty sure I have been able to source the correct replacement ball right from my local Alfa/fiat dealer( out of stock but will be here in 2 days). I know I will need an adapter as is seems the threads are different on the original ball than the replacement. Does anyone know the adapter thread sizes so I can try to source before the ball arrives??

Ricambi shows it as technically 2 separate unions needed with 2 o-ring gaskets while others just show a single adapter that seem to just change the thread size?

Thank you in advance and if the ball from Alfa/fiat turns out to work then I will post how the change over went and also the Alfa/fiat part number and price.

    thank you

    John

This would have been good for me to measure before I replaced my ball a few months ago but I figured I buy the ball with the adapter once and then just the ball going forward. Wasn’t that much, around $250 for both if I recall and the adapter wasn’t for sale separately that I could find.

The prices seem to have gone up a decent amount recently. Ricambi is about $485 with adapter now plus shipping and some guys in europe are about $410. I like dealing with ricambi for a lot of my part needs but half the price is half the price lol. If the part does cross correctly, the list price at alfa/fiat is $300 and most dealers will give from 10-20% off, I was lucky and got 25% off with no shipping fees so $225 but obviously with no adapter. Its not the end of the world, worst case I will use a thread gauge and pull the old one out and new one and find an adapter hopefully at a local hydraulic parts place. Just wanted to save some time if I could. Where did you purchase yours?

yea, reached out to him and he seems like a nice guy also, he said the prices have gone up, his price is now 335 pounds shipped which converts to $407 now plus a 5% paypal fee, so basically $427. I am guessing his prices for the parts have gone up like most other things lol

I bought my adapter from this link

    https://www.sequparts.com/product/union-kit-for-pressure-accumulator-ferrari-f355-f1/

Investigating it (granted i did not measure) but i think the thread size is actually the same on the new Accumulator to the old one. All the adapter does is raise the ball up to allow clearance for it to be bolted in place.

Bulb itself was quite cheap here in Germany

Just a tip from reading this thread. Big if but if that accumulator shown on that German parts site listed above is a correct fit for the 355 it is exactly the one used on the Porsche 996tt for the hydraulic power assist clutch. I have a new one sitting here on my desk for installation on my car. I bought it from FCP Euro for just over $100 a few months ago. The box gives the mfg as Corteco ( A German company) with a part number of 80000659.

I was thinking the same thing about it just spacing the ball up a little, Im gonna check the local hydraulic supply house for options to just space the ball up a little with the M14 x1.5 threads. Thank you
